Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000

Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000

Is this game scary when playing as a Marine?
AvP 3 disappointed me with the "horror" portion of the marine campaign, Isolation gets rid of the Xenomorph half-way through.

Bottom line: Will I be sitting in a corner frantically checking my motion tracker in constant fear of getting a throat-mouth jammed through my head or getting my spine torn out as a trophy?

The horror aspect is much more prevalent here than in AvP2010. Aliens move very quickly in this game and attack pretty viciously. Facehuggers will one-shot you (marine OR pred) and you have limited saves. If you're willing to see past the older graphics, this is by far the scarier of the two.

Have you completed the Alien Isolation campaign? If so then you would see the alien does not 'disappear'.

Also, I'm not sure, cause I played eons ago (and I think it wasn't even avp, but avp2), they spawn randomly, so you never know when they're going to appear.

Aliens spawn randomly in AvP, not in AvP2.

If it's a custom level, as in: a mod, as in: fan made, as in: not an actual part of AvP2, all the info you provided is irrelevant.

never played single player mission of original dlc primal hunt?

As for AvP games, I think the scariest marine campaign is in AvP2 (because of sounds and music, and there is a hardcore mode), the second place is for AvP Classic, and AvP 2010 somehow isn’t scary at all.
Aliens in AvP Classic are so funny when they stick near a wall trying to run into it.
I don’t know about Primal Hunt, though. I remember I saw a round radar (not a half-circle) on it’s screens, and it was so disappointing for me that I never played it)))

Random spawns? In AvP classic campaign? After several deaths you already know from where they can come. And you can hear them coming.

I meant it in the way that there isn't a certain number of aliens that will only appear when you reach x part of the map (like in avp 2010, for example, where entering a room, crossing a bridge, etc, will trigger the appearance of a concrete number of aliens), but that new aliens will keep apearing from time to time even if you stay in the same zone without advancing, so you can't think "I have entered in this room, some aliens appeared and I killed all of them, that means that this room is now secure and no more aliens will attack me while I'm here".

Having aliens that respawn, even if you know where they're going to do so, takes away the feeling of security and ease of having cleared an area.

Ah yes, you can never be sure you have cleared an area in AvP classic.

Download the "Redux Mod," this game will fantastic. It even looks better than AvP2 (which was released 2 years after this game).

I tried to use this redux mod, but my antivirus (AVG free) was too angry and killed it :death:
