Also in AvP3 they only appear where they are eggs so you always know when they are around, in AvP1 they were on many levels, the sound of them was always unsettling.
Even though that was the exact same sound as they used in Aliens, that aswell as the taunt "quotes" for the facehuggers in AvP2 they still make you ♥♥♥♥ your pants in AvP. Maybie because you're playing as a Marine or a Predator in the games.
Also i think the reasons why the Facehuggers are magically there in AvP is because for some reason they coulden't make the pods open untill AvP2, although in AvP2 facehuggers are alot less frequent because you only see one or two (or three with the Predator) in the last chapter for both the Marine and the Predator and in Primal Hunt as an Iron Bear the first chapter and the Predator in the first or second chapter, although the one that really scares me and i've only finished the AvP2 Predator campaign once because of this is that one Facehugger that sneaks up on you after the first few pod chambers, everywhere else you only see facehuggers if you get too close and you let the "active" pods open, although they do close.
Probably in AvP3 they are less scary because in alot of ways AvP3 feels like AvP for kids in alot of ways, aswell as that as you said the facehuggers in AvP2 1-hit you and in AvP once they attach to your face they don't stop untill you eather finish the level or (this is the more likely outcome) you die, although one thing that is kinda cool with what they did in AvP3 (one of the few interesting or good things) is how the facehuggers try to kill move you, although (as i said in alot of posts on the AvP3 hub) they really should of had some other way for you to counter kill moves/stealth kills other than having a bit of health left.
But thats another story.
One last thing though, that animation in AvP2 when they facehug you, ugh even though i haven't seen it much (if at all) nowadays it still scares me.

Makes me wonder if you can hunt them with wristbaldes, I think the adrenaline level is somewhat close to punching a bear in the face IRL.
You can. It's quite easy really.

reason why? :i could become the true rage beast that is my true form :3
you just die :)
They're not as bad in AvP 2. I dunno, maybe it's the graphics. Maybe it's the fact that you have a shoulder lamp. Maybe it's the absence of the sound. But anyways, the least scary facehuggers are from AvP3. Oh yeah sure, they don't kill you in one hit, but I believe that they still kill you instantly on Nightmare difficulty. And no checkpoints with rather lengthy levels so yay.
I don't know, it's like with facehuggers, the anticipation is too much. I just have to leave. And also, yes I know I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥ wimp.
