Thanks, but that is not the problem as it should work without ALchemy. I partly solved the problem by playing the game windowed and not fullscreen,and sound works mysteriously again.
As far as i know the latest version on steam needs my linked fix to make it work fullscreen.
I bet, back in the day i used to have 7.1 creative s750 on a Pentium 4.... Rebellion knew how to make a marine feel nervous with sound design.
Yeah nostalgia for me as well, I remember waiting for PC Gamer UK magazine to come out with the demo on it after I had seen it mentioned on a cover before release, then once it was out I used to plan lan with bassist out my old high school band him as alien me as marine.... no more harrowing feeling than walking the map as a marine and nothing showing on the motion tracker only to find as you turn each corner the ceiling lights have been tail whipped out... and then as you move forward under the next doorway... death as your body is pulled up by the alien hiding on the ceiling just after the doorway
They really dont make games like that anymore.
