Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000

Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000

No sound when playing with AV-Receiver.
Anyone else playing this game connected to an AV-Receiver and having no sound when entering a level? I have no idea why this is happening, but my computer is connected (via HDMI) to a Sony 5.1 AV Receiver and ONLY in AVP classic 2000 i get no signal whatsoever when i enter a level. I have sound in the menu screen, but as soon as i load a level and enter it, my receiver shows that there is no sound or signal. Like i said this only happens with this game.

Strangely enough, i can get sound when using some standard 2.0 speakers which i connect with a simple audio cable with the soundcard, but that's not a solution for me. So anyone else stumbled upon this problem?

Thanks, but that is not the problem as it should work without ALchemy. I partly solved the problem by playing the game windowed and not fullscreen, and sound works mysteriously again.

Cool, tbh your issue according to your initial description appears to be surround reverting to 2.0 stereo in fullscreen on avp classic 2000

As far as i know the latest version on steam needs my linked fix to make it work fullscreen.

I bet, back in the day i used to have 7.1 creative s750 on a Pentium 4.... Rebellion knew how to make a marine feel nervous with sound design.

Indeed, AVP 1999 was one of my first games i installed on my computer and as an ALIEN fan it was a dream come true playing as marine or xenomorph. ohh man...nostalgia just hit me!

Yeah nostalgia for me as well, I remember waiting for PC Gamer UK magazine to come out with the demo on it after I had seen it mentioned on a cover before release, then once it was out I used to plan lan with bassist out my old high school band him as alien me as marine.... no more harrowing feeling than walking the map as a marine and nothing showing on the motion tracker only to find as you turn each corner the ceiling lights have been tail whipped out... and then as you move forward under the next doorway... death as your body is pulled up by the alien hiding on the ceiling just after the doorway

They really dont make games like that anymore.
