what does a germ and a jew have in common?
If you take a shower it kills thousands of them.
What does michael jackson have in common with mc donalds?
They both stuff their meat between two buns.
Later on in this chat (channel 18) they started talking about sex and drugs so how come they didn't get muted either?
I feel i was unrightfully muted and mislead into thinking any chat channel is safe for adult content.
The moderators do a real good job of keeping chat clean but if your a filthy adult like me we have no place to chill in chat if it isn't game related.
There are channels like 18 with lower rules, but hey...you know trolls like to troll and they do it in EN channel, so its their nature to complain about rules/moderators and wonder why they get muted :P
Btw, i recognized that a lot of thumbs-down-reviewers and unhappy players here in forum still playing the game :P
This rule here is downright stupid imho.
1. No talking about other video games in EN chat (it's okay if your in ST or 18 chat).
This rule here isn't so bad but there is some gray area because sometimes people just pick on each other or joke around.
2. No insulting other players (in any way or form even if its something similar to like yo momma jokes).
The rest of the rules are pretty legit but it's way too easy to break them. Alot of people including myself just swear with out even thinking about it which ends up in getting muted... LOL.
i understand that strict rules in EN, just thinking.... everyone doing jokes and talk about other games, or just mess around.
New players in EN would quit instantly, cause they have no chance to ask anything,
or have to scroll up/down like hell to find the answer.
If i wanna do jokes or have some fun/discussions i join channel 18,
or E9.
Because today's MMORPG audience thinks they can just get away with saying/doing as they please, which is somewhat true in a lot of AAA MMORPGs. But with a smaller one like this, with active chat mods? No, not at all.
The mods in this game are fine. They participate in casual conversation, joke around, etc., as long as it is appropriate for the channel you're talking in. If you join the EN channel and start spouting out a bunch of crap, you'll get shut down pretty quickly for it.
That being said, not every person in power handles confrontation in the best way and this game is included in that. I won't specify any names because it's not necessary to make a point. Part of any job involving authority is being able to deescalate a situation in a reasonable fashion. How you choose to address someone matters a great deal in how they will respond to you. Not everyone is sitting there looking to make trouble after all and shouldn't be approached as such, but it's probably best to leave it at that.
Unfortunately, bad experiences stick in people's minds more than the good. Overall the moderator's in this game are solid and are just enforcing the rules as they are written. Sometimes there may be a bad apple or decision made, but that doesn't make the whole bunch bad by any means. Besides let's be honest, Steam and the internet in general, are prone to blowing things out of proportion and exaggerating issues.
Amazing. A failure of education, or a stylistic choice, led to muting a new player for one hour.
THATS an example of bad modding, especially when m00derator has the worse typos and grammar I've ever seen.
I was there and saw what happend, the moderator did what he had to do in a very nice way.
He warned the player three times, other players complained too, he did not change the caps writing.
So he was mutet in chat for 1 hour..omg, 1 hour ;-)
He ignored that.
M00derator asked him to stop several times. He ignored that.
M00derator kicked him. He ignored that. Came back and continued.
M00derator warned again, with the words "last warning". Again, the player ignored that.
So essentially, he got banned for a whole hour (omg, how tragic :P) for being annoying on purpose and ignoring the moderator. Pretty fair in my opinion.
