Downloading songs from Workshop?
I've subscribed to every track in the workshop, but they're not showing up in the game. Granted, this is my first time trying to use Steam workshop at all, so it's possible I'm just missing something obvious.

Hey Hypnogram. To play songs from the workshop, go to 'custom songs', click 'import song', select an audio file, click 'workshop' and then select the track from the list. Hope this helps!

I assume the downloaded workshop files should be in like, "steam/steamapps/workshop/content/", right?

That's correct.

So, the workshop downloads don't actually include the listed song audio, just the trk file from what I can tell. So I guess content creators need to like, list an external link to the associated song or something?

Yeah, I can't allow audio files to be uploaded to the workshop because that would cause all kinds of copyright claims. If the song is available for free download on a site like newgrounds or similar, then the creator is free to link to it in the description of their workshop item. If the song is licensed, however, then the player must source their own copy of it.

I see. That makes sense. That's where I was confused I guess. I suppose directing traffic towards my own content pages isn't exactly a downside lol. Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, that's definitely the right way to handle it. I was hoping it would be this way, as I'm working on some tracks and would like to be able to upload them should I ever feel happy with them, but I don't want to deal with any copyright issues. This game has so much potential.

That's a great way to handle it, although one thing I would like to see is a UI to sync the audio file with the notes, since you have no way of knowing which exact file the creator used

Since we download songs that might not be exactly synced, it'd be useful to have an option to have a quick and dirty way to change the base offset of the song, with bigger range than the base offset in the normal options menu.
