I have a crash when I start the first mission

Hi, as I said in the title the game crashs everytime I try to start the first mission. Only this mission is broken I can play endless mode.

What can I Do?

Thanks, that's what worked for me. I don't think the cutscenes are terribly important to this game anyway, but it would have been nice to be able to play them properly.

I purchased this game last night and it crashes....what a drag. I hate getting ripped off.. STEAM is advertising this game for 66% off today...they should fix it first but they told me I have to work it out with the game company PLAYFIRST not them.

IJUST DOWNLOADED AND AFTER IT FINISHES, IPLAYED THE STORYMODE.. IT CRASHED. PAID FOR 10 BUCKS JUST TO HAVE THIS THING. THEY NEED TO FIX THIS OR GIVE US A FULL REFUND OF OUR MONEY

This problem does not exist on the Mac version by the way so if you have the option to use your account on an Apple computer then you may do so without the loss of the story scenes.

I tried going in and deleting the files but it crashed the second it went to the level map. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!

This worked for me too
Deleting all the .swf files in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Diner Dash Hometown Hero\assets\downloads\_default\restaurants" under each restaurant in the "comics" folder works. (5 intro.swf and 1 outro.swf)

I figured out how to do this on Mac!
In your Steam games library, right click Diner Dash in the list of your games. In the drop down menu, click on Properties. In the menu that pops up, go to Local Files and then Browse Local Files…
That’ll bring up a Finder window with the files for all the games in your Steam library. Go to the Diner Dash folder, and right click on the Diner Dash shortcut inside. In the drop down menu, click Show Package Contents. Go to Contents>Resources>assets>downloads>_default>restraurants. From here, it’s the same as on Windows. Go into each restaurant file and delete the contents of the comics folder for each. That’ll get rid of the cut scenes that make flash crash the game.

did not do it for me. but what helped was deleting the cutscenes + deleting adobe player + deselecting full screen. I can play the game in the small window without any problems at all whereas on fullscreen I could not even finish one level without the game crashing.
