D3DGear - Game Recording and Streaming

D3DGear - Game Recording and Streaming

Is it worth the change?
I currently use Action! for recording my videos. Anyone know if this'd be a step up or not?

Hello,

I have the full version of D3DGear from their site, but not yet here on Steam. It is well worth every penny ask for it. For me I used Fraps for many years Paid version because it was one of the best out there for my capture needs, but because Fraps encodes in AVI it makes very large file outputs so I looked for other means to capture my games, desktop, and even stream. I have used a verity of both paid & free versions of capture applications, and so far this is my favorite one.

A few reasons why I love D3DGear,

* D3DGear allows me to use WMV format which is most useful to me. It also makes a nice quality output unlike other capture applications that offer the WMV format.

* D3DGear uses a lot less system resources therefore cutting down on system, and in game lag that you see from most capture applications.

* D3Dgear also has a built in broadcasting feature that allows you to stream your games or desktop.

Those are the 3 top reasons for me personally. Now there is a lot more to it then that, but for me those are my top 3 reasons why I love it so much.

So would I recommend it to others? Your damn right!

Well...

When I tried out D3DGear:
+ Ingame performance barely slowed down at all, even when recording 3840x2160.

But there were some problems.
- Skipping a lot of frames at 1920x1080 when doing 60fps in the recorded file. No matter which compression mode.

- Video & sound playback slowed down when attempting to record at higher resolutions such as 2560x1440 or 3840x2160 at 60fps. The recorded files needed to be sped up to fix the playback speed using virtualdub or similar. Virtualdub was showing that the framerate of 3840x2160 was 12FPS. Also no matter which compression mode.

- When the videos were sped up to the correct speed (60FPS), the videos were very laggy. Still no matter which compression mode. They still were after recompressing/reencoding them.

- Had to be uninstalled as GTA V kept complaining that it cannot find a Direct 3D compatible video card: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=430143166 Uninstalling D3DGear fixed the problem straight away.

Then I went back to Action, because D3DGear didn't work the way I wanted it to.

Hi Nova

Looks like there are some technical issues. I may help to investigate the issue, can you contact support@d3dgear.com?
