the problem is not that the gameplay is good, entertaining or engaging... or not, the problem is that this is a MMO, its not a single player game, i wanna know if there is enough people in the game to be worth playing it
The game is ready dead. IMC killed it.
IMC?
The problem resides in this game is an mmo, but IMC took out everything that makes an mmo an mmo.
Silver, the core currency. You can't directly farm it anymore.
Loot / gear. Because of Goddess gears, there's no point no reason to go out there and farm.
Which ultimately leaves you with raid activities, which has a weekly cap. It boils down the rich mmo experience to => Log in, spend 30 mins to go through all the raids with friends / guildies. You're done.
The game has more people idling in servers than actually playing.
The steamchart is not counting W server which has over 1-2k+ players (a combination of Sea/KR/JP).
Other server NA/SA/EU population is pretty low so there's no doubt about that. The game is consistent of grind both field/raids for end-game content. Some players may enjoy it, while other don't.
It's hard to say where the game is going, but imcgames (dev/studio) doesn't have any plan in shutting it down since they're very much interested in the Western Market for their future release Tree of Savior M. (Interesting.. this version fixed all the previous issue that PC had.)
Is the game dead? Yes and no.
There are no issues for clearing end-game as solo players since the dev has adjust difficult for both solo/party plays. Mean a while, Papaya Play purchased the right to publish the game at the moment, while the core developer is still imcgames studio.
Not many players will agreed with this, but that's how being play out so far.
Also big update next week according to the dev team.
The Europe Server is complet dead.
NA Server has enough People to play with.
The SA Server should be the same, (i dident testet this one yet)
The Asia Server still has a lot of players but is a bit laggy from other countries like europe from.
Appreciate the guides and contribution you put into ToS.
But I think you may be a bit out of touch with new player experience.
As a relatively new player, difficulty spikes drastically around Lv480. Delmore Waiting area was a progression stopper for new players, especially if you're not playing meta class following a guide.
As someone started from scratch and playing for about 2 months now. I NEEDED veterans to help me clear Delmore Waiting area (480) contents and up. Being in a party with other new players (480) was simply not enough to sustainably clear areas and level up.
And even once a new player reaches 490, the type and amount of raids new players needs to do are still harsh and requires aid from vets. The resources required to turn a new player to a relatively self-sustaining player is also tremendous (As in the ability to clear basic raids that offers materials to further their progress)
It took me TWO whole months with tremendous amount of help, both veterans carrying me through contents, as well as donate upgrade materials to speed up my progress, to be able to self sustain.
Solo players with absolutely no external help will certainly consistently hits progression stopper. Especially since IMC has sped up the leveling process from 0~480, the sudden curve in difficulty and progression speed drop will throw players off, and wane their interests.
I have met / made friends with several new players as we came up the level together, and they've already gone inactive after a month of play, it was I fortunate enough to be helped, that I've managed to keep the interest.
