I don't blame devs, some corporation's got it's fingers all in this. It's a shame too because as mentioned these are fire assets, and a decent brand rpg, you don't see class systems like this that often yet.
Also.....we're maybe a year or so away from asking an ai to program a full on mmo EXACTLY (even if legally nebulous or criminal) like any branded one in minutes and it can do so. A few more years and whole servers could be animated for one player, it's very possible, I'm not saying it's good.
If mmos are facing that now, it's a steep challenge to justify evolving or engineering branded content when something can do the same thing, for free as time goes on. After that time, being able to automate a whole server of players for a single player to work with. Ugh.
