Column 0 and Row 0 is simply referring to the first column/row, Column 1 and Row 1 is the second, etc., but you don't have to place the items in the exact tile. Simply getting the exact shape of the placed items will do fine, like this:

This will still create a Gold Bar out of 10 Talts.
And if you want to make multiple Gold Bars at the same time, you can do something like this:

This costs 20 Talts and will make 2 Gold Bars at once.
