How do you enchant an item so it can have more than 1 enchatment?
I have enchanted a goat horn and it had a great sp regen buff. then when i enchanted again,, it changed to dark resitance instead of adding. I tried once more clicking on other stuff and the dark resitance turned into evasion. 2 enchant scrolls wasted and a great buff gone...

I believe it's random if it adds a second and third enchants to an item. and once you get another enchant added, when you use a scroll it will change both/all three enchants for 1 scroll. So it's pretty randomized.

EDIT: But im pretty sure you can lose the multiple enchants and go back down to 1 enchant

Yea but once you get a decent enchant, you can get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of extra dmg.
Yeah Enchant Scrolls are probably the biggest money waste if you really want to get a really good bonus. I was just happy with whatever I got and only enchant again if I want to change my costume.

Check the official forums out. Someone crunched the numbers a while back and basically to get three perfect rolls (of rolls you would want) would cost upwards of $1m. It just shows how ridiculous it really is.

While I do believe ToS is a cash grab that is veiled very well, I don't think enchant scrolls are the primary reason. I would chalk the cash grab for your average player up to tokens, dungeon reset scrolls, and the other useful items. Enchant scrolls are a novelty for most and only the small population of hardcore, dedicated players will put any real money into them.
TOS isn't a cash grab because of enchant scrolls.... you only need three enchantments, that's it. Everything else is your personal greedy drive for perfection. As mentioned, it would cost over a million dollars to roll the three stats you actually want for min-max purposes. No one is realistically expected to achieve that and the stats are MINOR and INSIGNIFICANT in the long run due to being low and fixed. You think level 200 players care about an extra 16 dmg? They hit for THOUSANDS. That SP recovery you spent a fortune on is useless at high levels because everyone is addicted to SP potions, they're the only reasonable way to recover energy late game with skills costing hundreds of SP per cast.

Treat enchants like collectibles. They're just a fun side thing to hunt for and search for the best deals, they have almost no impact on your endgame character.

People like them because you can trade them after you're done leveling a character to your alts and give your alts a big stat boost.

This! If you want to try your luck, get some extra items to mess around with and enchant them every once in a while, you'll end up with some good and some bad, but maybe you'll get something really good! Just don't stress about it
One last question, once you get 2 enchantments on the item, if you use another enchantment scroll on it, would it:
1)have a chance to reduce back to one single enchament?
or
2)Reroll both enchantments and/or add the third enchantment?

Sure they do, that's like +16 STR/INT per enchant per headgear on every hit of every attack you do, doubled with stuff like Sacrament or Cafrisun which also stack.

lul noobs still think that 16dmg is an additional flat dmg value -facedesk-
Yeah, the elemental enchants are, of course, modified by the target's elemental weakness/resistances, but you also get every skill or attribute modifier on all your bonus damage.

The only thing you don't get is crits, AFAIK.

So if you have lv5 2H Bow Mastery, your enchants are doubled against flying enemies.
If you have lv100 in an Enchance attribute, your enchants are doubled using that skill.
If you cast Meteor, your elemental enchants are quadrupled.

So yeah, even if you only rolled 16 (IIRC the lowest you can roll is 15, up to 33), that's 48 per headgear, for 144 across all three if you triple element all of them (perfect rolls would give 297). And this can easily be doubled or tripled from skills and attributes, so you're getting 300-400 extra damage per hit if you're poor, or up to 1000 if you're obscenely rich.

Oh hey, you know that 5k damage AoE? Well now you deal 1k more to every target.
Oh, that skill that hits five times for 1k damage each? Well, now it does 5k extra.

Nah, that's pretty minor and nobody will care about it past lv300.
