ToS or Path of Exile?

Hello everyone,

excuse my bad english. I started yesterday Path of Exile but I'm waiting ToS from more than a year because Ragnarok Online is my favourite MMORPG you know...
The problem is that Path of Exile has a thing that pushes me to play at it more than on ToS, the free to play.

I've read a lot "no, this is F2P who says this is P2W is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron" etc. etc. but the truth is that because of the token system this is NOT a real F2P because who pays has always benefits on who doesn't, otherwise they would not pay logically. I know that you can buy token with ingame currency (silver? gold?) but there are too much important thing to do with tokens that their value will always augment and it will be really hard even to have just one of them.

I'm here to ask who play/played Path of Exile for enaugh time and now plays ToS, if this game is still enjoyable even with this P2W system or it's better to play on PoE? Obvius say that I won't buy tokens with real money.

Ugh, look my friend ToS is not P2W, it makes things much easier when you have tokens and what not but its not needed, you will do great without them just a little more challenge and if your comming from PoE then challenge wont be an issue, that being said you will enojy the game most likely. You will go back to PoE after awhile or atleast I always do. If you buy founders or wait till it goes for free is up to you, just saying I enjoy ToS and I love PoE.

He doesnt know what pay2win even is, or he is trolling, with his 42 hours logged in game, half of which he is probably spamming shout chat. Either way, dumb as hell.

Opinion? The pay2win phrase gained speed 10 years ago when games like silkroad gave you 1 shot pvp weapons that could only be aquired through credit card purchases, and because idiots like this think pay2win = buying things in game that give a small advantage which can easily be gained just by playing the game I am supposed to respect his "opinion" ? Dont think so bub.

Pay to win means that you buy your victory with your wallet. That's Tree of Savior.

On the P2W scale of 0 to 10... PoE is a 1 and ToS is a 2. Yes, PoE is P2W since you can buy stash space which gives you trading power. League of Legends is 0.5 because of rune pages. All these games let you pay for convenience.

Real P2W is like phone games where you have energy that you can refill for $. Then they add raid content where the best loot is and the only way to get loot is to refill this meter. If ToS were to make the game P2W they would probably have to limit content for $. One example would be adding adding OP loot to a dungeon boss that will be around only for a few days.

I haven't played this game yet, but Path of Exhile is awesome. I think you should try both games tbh...

I'd say that it's much more than 2.

You can amass massive fortune of in game money with real money. Whales can potentially buy the best weapons / armors with no real effort. Leveling is also easier. The amount of time and effort money can potentially save is huge. The system encourages whales to dominate servers.. they can potentially claim world boss spawns and make the life of other players miserable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that reset potions can't be acquired without paying cold hard cash which really makes f2p character a living hell. One mistake and you have to reroll whole character.

Your Token-related worries are inaccurate absolutely unnecessary.

They have been (and will be) affordable; some players have stockpiled a year's worth already.

Frankly, if that's the only thing holding you back — you owe it to yourself to play this game.

Thanks everybody for the accurate replies. I'll try this game for sure but still I don't know if I want to invest much time on it. As I said before, even if it is a soft P2W, the problem described by Tsuanli "that some people can make a fortune selling tokens" it's real. I found it on some private servers of RO that had a similar system. You don't have to convince me if this is P2W or not, I have my opinion about it, I just wanted to know if it is better of worse PoE since I started PoE just yesterday.

That is funny, he thinks this is pay2win because you can sell tokens for silver. May as well call every game that has gold selling bots pay2win.
