When you rejoin, on a pre rebuild character, you are reset to level 1 of base class, but all your xp is stored on special xp cards (that store all your accumulated xp, sectioned by advancement tiers). Your equiped items, are retreivable from the market retrieve tab.
The following link to the dev blog's, re:build surival guide should answer most of your questions, and shows which classes were moved where.

Sounds like you won't have much trouble, as a 120 cleric and a 75 swordie, would still be within that 1st class advancement (2nd class after base) with the new system. The only thing to beware of is if swordsman planned on being a corsair, shinobi, or squire (those were moved to scout, which in itself was moved to the 5th base class) or if that cleric was a bokor (bokor is now under wizard).
