How to fix graphics problems/artifacts/stairs, etc.?

Hi all,

I just installed yesterday and EG mostly worked well, but today I started my new PC and went to play it again and now it has some graphics artifacts - besides the stairs between colors, it looks like 1+ colors have been replaced by the wrong ones. For example, when looking at the first island while playing there random light blue pixels everywhere - maybe 1/10th of the screen real estate. It also appears on the opening video and EG splash screen after that. This makes it unplayable. ):

I'd turned on the VSync last night and upped the resolution to 1600x1200@32bit to make better use of my screen, but looking at the Windows settings I see that this monitor is set at 16-bit color. If I change it to 32-bit color then I see that light blue color around the regular Windows desktop and windows - like lines through the title bar on windows.

Of course now that I'm looking, I see that the windows 7 default background also has obvious stairs throughout it, so maybe this is a larger issue since reboot.

Radeon 7970, Win 7 Pro, ...

Any help appreciated!

Running the same issue. I'ts because of resolution is capped. researching will let you know.

i hope my issue is the same. I have blue and yellow artifacts on my screen. It happens on desktop and in games. Blue dots or squares or distortion. It gets worse when i put my screen into 32 bit. However when in 16 bit some windows don't show up. They are invisible. They still show up in the bar at the bottom but not on screen. Any help to get rid of these would be great please please please
