I think im leaning towards the bottom side, while i dont have many hours on this game playing, I have many more just watching videos hahaha. I wanna try out conjurer and goatman race
You're correct, it got patched out. And yeah I've seen Jono make fun of it, too.
So, Insectoids have an energy pool instead of a mana pool. This energy pool used to have a cap of 50, but now it's 100. Well, before it was bumped up to 100, they couldn't cast the most expensive version of the Conjurer's signature spell. The spell itself would level up with the minion it summoned, but it would also cost more energy. Over 50 energy, so Insectoids couldn't afford it.
Nowadays, they can.
(Also, yes, DLC's super worth it. But only if you're enjoying the game, because the DLC classes and DLC races are a little extreme. Not necessarily harder if you know what you're doing, just more extreme. Oh, and you can't initially mix & match the DLC races and classes together. You have to beat the game as a given DLC race, to unlock its signature class for the other DLC races.)
For reference, those race-class combinations are as follows:
Insectoid unlocks Hunter
Skeleton unlocks Conjurer
Incubus unlocks Punisher
Succubus unlocks Mesmer
Automaton unlocks Mechanist
Goatman unlocks Brewer
Vampire unlocks Accursed
Goblin unlocks Shaman
You don't have to beat the game as those classes, just the race. Playing the class won't unlock anything, so if you can't handle X class, just stick to the race.
