Why does wanderer have 0 appraisal skill?
It just seems like a weird choice given the role wanderer is meant to fulfill. I feel like 5-10 base appraisal would make more sense, but Idk how that would work out from a balance standpoint.

I think I agree with you. It's possible we'll make some balance tweaks to the classes once we release our next DLC and I'll keep this in mind. The Wanderer shouldn't be expected to compete with the Rogue or Merchant in appraisal ability but a little appraisal fits in his role as the party's guide and survivalist.

That's funny, I recently came back to this game after a hiatus. I would pick up the wanderer thinking it was the merchant. But after playing the wanderer a few times, I also told my self "I feel like he should at least have a few levels in appraisal."

hell yeah

I really love the changes to appraisal and giving most classes 0 appraisal, having an actual reason to use unidentified stuff to raise appraisal or risk using unidentified gear because I'm far off from being able to appraise it is a ton of fun. I just found it weird when I couldn't even appraise potions as the wanderer.

Wanderer has 0 appraisal, but 1 PER - you can identify everything up to 50g, it just takes a while... What's the problem?

problem is the dungeon-survivalist-guide class having the bare minimum potential to appraise stuff at the start is weird. It feels wrong to swap from something like the brewer (base 1 perception and 10 appraisal) to the wanderer and being worse at appraising gear like weapons and armor.

Balance-wise I don't have an issue with the wanderer having 0 appraisal, the appraisal is slow as hell, but the wanderer starts off with a good bit of food, so that's not such an issue, I just take issue with the dissonance between the wanderer's supposed role as the experienced/prepared explorer and the actual gameplay experience of the wanderer being mediocre at appraisal.
