Mouse skipping issue
Today I started playing Barony after about a year or so of not playing, but I noticed a weird issue which makes it so that when I turn my mouse, from time to time, it will "skip" every now and again, like 90 degrees or so in an instant, causing me to be all turned around.

I tried limiting my FPS to the refresh rate, trying mouse smoothing off and on, neither of which helped. Any ideas?

I'm actually getting the same issue, I wonder if it's related to the fact we were both away for a few years lol

You may get better results if you turn off the "Camera Interpolation" option in the Video settings. Especially on systems, or with settings applied, where the game may occasionally hitch a little Camera Interpolation may flip out.

With this feature off, motion in the game will look like it's going at 50FPS, but you won't run into that mouse skipping, as you put it. Video settings being too high (EG: V-Sync, excess resolution, tons of background processes EG: Chrome Tabs), can result in hitching and then this can occur.
Audio streaming in-game may also cause hitches which results in the Camera Interpolation mouse skip. To reduce Audio loading causing the hitch, try using the "Preload Audio Files" option in the Audio section.

Sorry you ran into trouble, but welcome back to Barony! I hope this helps!

Yeah I too get the same problem and your solution doesn't help. Before it ran alright I only ever had a problem when I had other tabs open together with the game then for whatever reason for a few weeks I could play with tabs open flawlessly until recently even with every other tab closed I still get mouse skips

Yeah, the issue still happens despite turning off interpolation.

Did you also try turning on "Preload Audio Files" and turning off "V-Sync"? Let us know if anything makes any impact; I can't reproduce the problem on my end!

hi, i have the same issue, ive tried fullscreen and borderless and the setting previously mentioned, preload audio files didnt work even after a restart and V-Sync also didnt fix it.
i play mostly on a kiting pattern where i use the camera a lot to run away and sometimes its really noticeable, i turn and then im back facing the enemy the next frame, and some other times im just walking and the camera will snap a few extra steps to where i was trying to look.

None of those help, unfortunately.

The last general bit of advice I can think of is to update your graphics drivers.
If you could post your platforms (OS version) and some computer specs it might help narrow down why you users in particular are struggling with this so that we can try to figure out a fix! You might have something in common that is hard for us to figure out otherwise.

I did actually update my graphic drivers a few days ago, since CS2 was giving my a pop up about it.

As for my specs:

Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 3 1300X Quad-Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
8 GB RAM

In the end, it's not really a game-breaking issue, just a bit of an annoyance.

Might have something to do with that micro-stutter that happens consistently about every 35~45 seconds regardless of any settings or other open programs.

This engine is a bit of the ol' doo-doo feces, sorry to say.

Okay so for whatever reason yesterday when I spend a long time on the title screen just scrolling though YouTube and when I played it was all good for a day or so. Now the mouse is spiking again, I cannot figure out what causes it but it needs to be fixed I LOVE this game but it is almost unplayable for me. Some people put up with it but I can't and probably the new people that install it won't either
