Barony
Appraisal
So as anything but a Merchant identifying items is nigh impossible.
I start out identifying as soon as i find the first item, however usually by the time i die on floor 3 or 4 i still have not managed to even identify it and have a full inventory.
Is there something im missing?

Would be great to make it easier to identify items for the solo player, that would really improve the solo game experience.

When it comes to appraisal, it's best to start with that book you find on the table in the spawn room, and certain items are much easier to appraise(Like food, scrolls, etc.) and as your appraisal increases, you can move onto harder stuff. The hardest things are gems, followed by rings and spell books etc. So don't try to appraise gems until master or legendary. In all my runs, by the time I get to baron(As long as I don't die horribly before then) I'll have been legendary at appraisal for a long while and can appraise most items fairly quickly. Perception IIRC also helps appraisal, so if you get lucky with level ups, that will help too. I always play wizard, so it's definitely possible for a non-merchant to appraise everything, just takes work and knowing what's easier or harder to appraise.
