Cant appraise cheese ?

Picked a Conjurer start and its the only class Ive played so far that cant Appraise even CHEESE. Anything that can help ?

Some classes will struggle to appraise anything in the beginning of the game. Raising your PER stat will help, and eventually you'll work your way up from there. Until then, be wary of unidentified objects, especially equipment.

If a class starts with 0/100 appraise cheese is the ideal item to start for that skill aside from maybe a random torch on the ground(which is not common like cheese is) or an apple. Gems are probably the least ideal as some of them will require almost 100 appraise to discover what they are. Gems also can be a good item to have as keep trying to level your appraise since the attempt to appraise an item can still give you a level with the skill but starting off gems should be the last thing you try to appraise in my opinion for early game.

To add to that, if you do pick up a gem, if it has a weight of 3 and a value of 0, just chuck it or use it to trip a trap, its worthless glass, every time. Otherwise, you'll spend forever auto appraising it instead of a fish or something easier you picked up. Thats if you are using auto appraise of course.
