Multiplayer Saves Not Working Intermittently
So my friend and I have been playing multiplayer matches pretty often. I've been hosting. Usually everything works fine, but twice now, we've had issues when trying to load the game. I load the file, invite him, he accepts, but then nothing happens. We went into the Barony savegames folder, and his save is there. We tried renaming his save to be the same number as mine (after copying the original first), but that didn't work either.

Some details:
- When this first happened, one player was dead and one wasn't. The second time, both characters were alive at the start of Level 8.
- Neither player started a new solo game after the multiplayer match and before we tried to load again (not sure if this is true for the first instance but it is true for the second).
- First game was not Classic Mode. Second time it was. We also have Hunger and Traps off. Everything else should be default.
- My friend has the DLC. I do not. He is playing as a Human Mechanist. I am a Human Rogue.

Hi satyrelfheim, sorry you guys have ran into trouble.
This looks like unusual behavior and appears substantially less stable than what most regular players experience. The DLC will not have an effect on save compatibility.
The most common problem is quitting or disconnecting when a player is dead, which will permanently prevent the dead player(s) from being able to rejoin.
Also due to lag, some players may not arrive at the next level at the same time, and so it's recommended to wait a bit (maybe 15 seconds) upon arriving at the next level before quitting. Lastly, if you're noticing a buildup of worsening lag, it's a good idea to save and quit so that long-term desyncs do not build up, which may ultimately result in incompatible save data. So refreshing the game server by shutting it down and restarting can be a good practice.
I hope some of these suggestions help you have a more stable experience.

Hello, this issue is arising for me and my partner. I am on the Steam Deck and she is on PC. We have saves that we can no longer access since the compatibility save file is not found. I do not leave before she ends the game on PC.
