Alternate levels / skipping
I've played Barony with friends before, getting all the way past the Lich boss, we died on the next boss. Yesterday I played the game again and tried to go through all the secret levels to get all the orbs to make the fights easier. Then I found myself fighting Balmorea and then the game was over?

Why does the game end in different ways? It didn't even let me go to the ancient dwarven levels or fight the lich boss.

Did I do something wrong? Why can't the game just be all the way through from start to finish? Or at least give you the option to go back in and explore stuff you hadn't before.

On level 18, you'll see the message "You hear screams/cries of anguish", this indicates the Second Underworld - Which leads to Hell.
Skip the level 18/19 (not the Mystic Library - On level 16) secret.

Yeah, found this out the hard way too. The Hell boss ends the game. If you want go to past floor 20, you have to fight Herx.

I find it kind of unfortunate myself - However, you still can use /nextlevel in Bapho's Arena, and it takes you to Hamlet, if you wanted to do a true 1 - 35 run.
