What does true mean in the achievements?

E.g. Bony Baron (escape as a true skeleton) is there an option to be a fake skeleton?

There's a cosmetic only option if you wanna play a monster character without extra rules. You get Bony Baron by playing as a skeleton with low health/mana regen, allegiance with ghouls, weakness to maces, etc. just like a normal skeleton, but not if you're playing like a human who just looks like a skeleton.

as fluffy said its playing as the race itself it should be set as default that you want to play as the race itself, can be any class got the vampire skeleton and automaton achievment while playing the class and for vampire i was the healer for skeleton a ninja so as long as achievments are enabeled you should be good ofc i was mechanic for automaton since it is one of the more trash tier races purely because of the heating mechanic and the lack of swimming as it lower your heat rapidly just dont pick the cosmetic option and you are gucci its not an option easely in sight anyway so you should be good have fun and may rng be on your side.
