Boulder Traps

Hot TF do I avoid these? I keep doing what I think are nice runs and them BAM everything gone lol

Basically, you need to explore carefully, and stay aware of the ceiling. Be careful around corners, and check every direction at intersections. Also, be careful with narrow hallways, and use the open areas to your advantage, should you face a boulder trap. Keep in mind that it can only roll in one of four directions, in a straight line. Using a light source for greater range of vision can help spot them from further away, if you're trying to stealth in the dark more. Note, too, that traps make passive noise, though personally I don't really make use of this. Staying aware of boulder traps can seem like a lot at first, but once you get used to it, it's as natural as being aware of enemies or loot as you explore. I hope this helps at least a bit. ^.^

Ah ok. See I always play warrior cause I like having a shield so I barely ever use a light source. Guess I learned that now I have to. Haha.

Ah, that makes sense. Personally, I'd reccomend cleric. It starts with slightly less armor and no ranged weapon, but still a shield and mace, plus two healing potions, three scrolls of summoning, and a torch. I find this starting gear easier, but you can always just grab a torch off the wall either way, lol. I always put my shield in my "1" hotbar slot so I can easily switch to it when I see a creature while exploring with the torch. Oh, and I've never done either of these, but you can break a rolling boulder with a pickaxe / dig spell or staff, or stop it if your strength is at least 5. (And push a stopped one.) There's an achievement for both.
