Leveling Question
Are my stat ups random? Or are they related to what skills I level up?

I believe skills have a slight influence, by adding an "additional" point, but aside from that, it seems to mostly be RNG.

(I'm not thinknig straight right now, sorry if I severely neutered my intended message. I shouldn'tve replied)

Gotcha. Thanks. I figured it had to be RNG when constantly using my quarterstaff wasn't leveling strength very often.

Your class adds weight to which three stats are likely to increase.

That'd explain my perception as Rogue.

Is it just class? Or skills as well? I like to get my Wizard to 5 strength so I can do the boulder puzzle for the ancient armor. It's super frustrating to get their and not have the strength to solve it.

On the topic of how to solve this.

I'd recommend fullclearing a level or two if there's no minotaur, even with hunger on, a careful usage of food will get you around without problem.

By full clearing, you're pretty much getting the XP of killing every enemy, getting the XP of every item being appraised (Atleast those you can)

And, depending on what you have available, you may even snuff out a Legend in Swimming, Trading, or the ever rare (But nice to have,) Legend in Locking.

If there is a minotaur, I want you to narrow it down to a few things

Some min-maxy/extra XP and strategies
Do you have good DEX, and atleast 2 throwing weapons, and a kitable map? or Do you have a Spell of Slow, or Cold, or alot of available staffs of the spell in question? or Are there ZAP Brigadiers? or Available high-damage spells (High damage spells are Lightning, Magic Missle, Fireball) or Is your AC and damage high enough you'd take it on?
If you can fullfill one of these categories, you may be able to take it on. Now it's been a while since I've used the turtle strategy on Minotaurs, not quite sure how well that'll go. But I have used alot of the other ones over and over again. -- Minotaurs give alot of XP on death, and will usually also drop a Gem, that can be sold, which allows a bit of trading to level it up, alongisde Appraise if you've got the right shop. -- Don't buy gems from shops in any situation, only sell gems to them. It's cost ineffective to buy them. (You can lose 3500~ Gold all together if it's a piece of glass)
Back on topic, if it's the firstmost strategy, you'll need lots of patience, alot of knowledge of the level layout, and what you can manage: Basically, keep kiting the Minotaur, smashing it with throwing weapons from afar, kiting around a loop, and picking them back up, and rinse/repeating. This is pretty much a minimumlist strategy, because I do believe Rocks and Glass work too, not sure there though. Just keep hitting it with cold spells or slow spells in the second, don't expect to kill it here, just expect to be able to go that extra bit longer -- If there's ZAPs these strategies go hand-and-hand, and will usually decimate the Minotaur, but in this situation, you likely won't get the XP of killing it, so not all is nice about it. (But you will get ZAPs to recruit) High damage spells are straight forward, Keep blasting the minotaur with it -- Becareful, as what I've found out is has a tendancy to run at quite some annoying angles time to time, which will dodge spells, but none the less, it takes a bit of patience, a staff or two/a good chunk of mana, and good aim, but you can definitely kill them this way. If your AC is 42~ - 45~ (Aprox) you should be able to tank non-hardcore Minotaurs (not sure about hardcore...) Obviously, it can't hurt you. But you can hurt it. Smack away! Anyways, these are just some min-maxing or helpful strategies to help net in extra XP. What you actually use and do is fully up to you, that includes if you choose to self-learn strategies. Of course, I would recommend full clearing, and leveling skills up. ... But in any situation, do what's most fun to you!

I personally have alot of strategies and tips I use mentally in game, which do help quite a bit.
These are just some of the personal mental strategies I use

Edit: Dammit, my post is too long.

Edit2: Fixed to an extent.
