But then I cancelled the pre-purchase and got a refund when I saw that Steam had the Lunar Year Sale going on.
I ended up getting 28 indie games that would have been $300+ USD for the price of $65 USD (the price of the Apex edition)....
Did I make the right decision?
I for one am glad they stick to the things that make the Far Cry games all great, and DONT make them "pvp mmo based games".
That was the point :)
The game also emphasizes on the "Pets" mechanic which will appeal to many rpg gamers who may be interested in using pets in an fps game, I realize Ark allows you to tame beasts as well but for the players who want some peace abd quiet... yeah, this would definitely appeal to them.
.....i wish i could have a pet Bear IRL.
Actually, let's not forget, Primal is a 30+ hour game lol
And the crafting/modifying is far more in depth than any prior Far Cry game.
Yes they did make the same exact game 3 times in a row with a different skin and settings... i'll explain since me being an idiot is far above your intellect
FAR CRY 3
FAR CRY 4
FAR CRY Primal
Now the game doesnt have to be entirely different by any means but this game is going to be the same repetive grind the other games were, couldn't we have co-op, some unique crafting system... maybe different combat idk anything different...
btw no its not, ok so you can make new crap, maybe more stuff like a flaming spear, you still need to kill this animal to upgrade this item nothing new or special... just different crap you can make...
so like I said they changed the setting, they changed the skins and gave it a new name.... BUT ITS THE SAME GAME
If we want to be realistic, the core Far Cry experience never had anything multiplayer, but many people are mad Ubisoft didn't include co-op this time around. Thus, trying to create a standpoint of how the core Far Cry experience somehow included co-op... it's laughable.
& I agree, I'm pretty glad this one doesn't have multiplayer or level editior. We'd have people running around in a map shooting a hundred mammoths in an empty room. If gamers were a bit more serious about creation maybe not having a level editor would have been a bigger deal to me.
So in what other Far Cry can you make weapons from scratch from?
What other Far Cry has weapon physics where the weapons can break?
What past Far Cry let's you call in animals at will and dismiss them on command?
What other Far Cry allows you to have animal companions each with special killing blows?
Sounds like you're trying to create an argument but you're telling us only to look at one side of the coin...
No, it's not just the same Far Cry re-skinned, let's look at some things that haters fail to realize.
What has changed? What sets it apart from other Far Cry games?
+You begin your journey basically alone.. build your tribe/village from ground up with warriors you earn.
+Rescue P.O.W's and have them become specialists at your village.
+There are 8 types of specialists, wach bearing their own unique ability.
+New weapons physics - Weapons can break, you need to maintain them.
+New crafting system, craft a club, craft a spear, craft a bow, craft an arrow.
+Tame animals. You are the first Beast Master!
+Day/Night cycle makes different enemies come out. How they interact with the environment.
+Recorded in Proto-Indo Europian.
-Upgrade your animal companions abilities.
Fact is that besides this Far Cry being a different setting, there's enough to make this game different from the rest.
I enjoyed watching/listening to your opinion but just because you have a video, doesn't mean you know more about the game than everyone else =/
this is nothing new or special just something far cry decided to implement into their games.
you couldnt use the animals at will in other far cry games but you could use them to kill.
if you watched my video I said that was cool and i liked it however another thing not unique or special, try ARK?
no im telling you to look at the whole picture, the core of the game is to build up your tribe again, wasnt that the point of far cry 4, to get to know your people and help them fight a dictator?
how about far cry 3 you alone must save your friends(tribe) so you guys can leave together...
how about all the repetitive and mind numbing liberate this outpost or save these people all crap that was in previous games and we will have to do again in this game...
the story is generic, the game play is repetitive and nothing special...
Seriously did you play any other farcry?
new to farcry not new to rpg games, or games of this type in general
like i said already new to far cry
not new
I'll admit this is the only thing i think they put effort in
another thing i dont mind and think its pretty good
again I think you need to go back and play a far cry game, most of the things you listed are not new just tweaks on old systems...
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm pretty sure i stated I, myself, didnt like it. I also said it was my opinion... and i asked what did others thinkof my opinion.. never said it was fact or fiction, i just said i felt it was more of the same
Yes lol I have the retail boxed version of the first one (before Ubisoft ruined it) and I have Far Cry 3 and 4 on both pc and ps3.
In all fairness, if they are all tweaks, wouldn't those tweaks add up to make it a different game overall. We hear alot of the time that one small change makes a big difference.
OP, fair enough and thank you for quick response.
So, are you going to buy the game?
If not, what would you have liked to see different that would have made you buy it?
I'm honestly on the fence, I had it pre-ordered before but like I said, I refeunded because the Lunar Sale surprised me, I'm not sure if I have enough interest to purchase it until later.
An MMO Far Cry would be horrible - with guns or without... it would fail miserably lol
