Improve your graphics quality in FC Primal!
One of the ways to improve graphics quality in FC series was to increase the quality settings in the GamerProfile file, especially when the default was 1280x720. In FC Primal these settings are not in the GamerProfile file but they can be added manually. Note that if you change your video settings in-game you will need to manually re-add them.

So using my 980Ti I have run DSR 2880x1620 on max in-game video settings and increased the quality setting from 1280x720 to 30720x17280. This improves the quality of the image at any screen resolution.

The game looks so much better, even though there is not any support for Nvidia gameworks. Try and see how high you can push the quality setting using your hardware.

To add these settings in the GamerProfile file find <CustomQuality> and add after <quality ResolutionX and ResolutionY set to your preferred values.

So my settings look like:

<CustomQuality>
<quality ResolutionX="30720" ResolutionY="17280" SSAOLevel="2" AntiAliasingMode="2" FurLevel="1" TreeTessellationLevel="1" VolumetricFogQuality="veryhigh" EnvironmentQuality="high" AntiPortalQuality="default" PortalQuality="default" PostFxQuality="high" TextureQuality="high" WaterQuality="veryhigh" DepthPassQuality="" VegetationQuality="ultra" TerrainQuality="veryhigh" GeometryQuality="ultra" LightingQuality="HD" ShadowQuality="veryhigh" ShadowCinematicQuality="HD" EditorQuality="default" EnableVertexBinding="1" id="custom" />
</CustomQuality>

Also there are settings in the file that you cannot set in the in-game video settings:

- TreeTessellationLevel
- SSAOLevel

So you may want to experiment with those as well.

Enjoy!

It's very interesting there's a configurable for the Fur Level there, I'm definitely going to check it out.

It's a shame hairworks wasn't included here, it would have been an amazing edition to this game given the focus on the animals.

If you have dsr set up you should get those res options in menu?

The ResolutionX and ResolutionY are internal game engine settings for quality and are not the same as screen resolution settings.

I change the settings in the file but when I start the game the settings go back to what they were, and I`m not going into the settings menu ingame afterwards...I`m trying to increase the terrain distance of view so I don`t have to see the ground on the other side of the lake low res...

I hate vignette. Developers from all over got this idea that it "adds" immersion, but for me...arrg.
