The HD Texture pack not displayed and thus cannot be enabled in the Graphics settings, maximum resolution can only be set to High

After I bought the Apex Edition, I also added the HD Texture pack manually under the Steam DLCs, because it wasn't added on its own. I ticked the option it installed with a 3 GB additional download. However, the HD resolution pack setting is not even displayed anywhere in the game, under the Settings menu, and the maximum texture resolution is set to High, even when I selected the Ultra preset. From what I read, it should have been set to Very High or Ultra with the HD Texture pack enabled.

I also manually enabled the HD pack by changing a value from 0 to 1. The GamerProfile.xml file is located under Documents/My Games/Far Cry Primal. The option again did not show in the game.

The latest game update is already installed.

I am starting to wonder if Ubisoft did this deliberately, just to punish Steam users from enjoying their products just because they haven't bought them directly from them? Hopefully, I am wrong about this. I know for sure that the game content is correctly associated with my Ubisoft Connect account.

In any case, if this issue won't be successfully resolved, I'll just refund the game and be done with it. Hopefully I can get some help from their Support staff to elaborate this issue.

I just figured this out myself. Steam installs the hd textures into the wrong directory. Steam install the HD texture pack in the Far Cry Primal Root folder instead of \Far Cry Primal\data_win32\worlds\primal_main folder.
just move (primal_main_hd_tex.dat And primal_main_hd_tex.fat)File to the primal_main folder and it will work,and Enable HD textures in setting options will pop up.
Ubisoft or Steam should Fix it anyway.

You found a resolution for this problem. I applaud you for solving the problem for this!

Anyway, before your reply, I found a post, but I was somehow not convinced about it.

The main thing is that I can confirm that it works. Moving both files to the appropriate location folder is mandatory on Steam. I can't speak for Uplay Connect. There it (probably) works as it should.

Thank you for having the fix ready. I just bought the game and was like "what even is this?" when I noticed the low texture quality. Then I realized the HD Pack wasn't even installed automatically via Steam - I had to manually download it by looking for "DLC" for the game, even though I just purchased the Apex Edition a few days ago.
THEN it didn't even make a difference.

Well, that's not enough. If you don't see the HD Textures option in the settings, then it's not active, just like Stragedy said. I assume that you moved both files to proper location, seen the option in game, and have it enabled and set all Graphics to overall Ultra quality?

In any case, I filed a ticket, but there's no response at all from Ubisoft, at least for now.
