For the Steam version of the base Primal game they go in
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 2029
the Uplay only version they go in
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series

if you have a problem with your save files contact Ubisoft support as i got no clue as i keep the cloud save option OFF in Uplay .. as it can cause problems
it gave me a corrupted save a few yrs ago with FarCry 3 when i lost power and the game was in the middle of an Auto save
so ever since then i keep thats setting in Uplay disabled
you can back up your save files and you should do that manually
see this on the ubisoft support system on how to back up your save files manually
https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/9/3888/how-can-i-manually-back-up-my-save-game/kA030000000enCFCAY
i did not create backups of every part or mission of Primal yet but i do plan on doing so
but your welcome to try my save that i did back up from the blood fang mission
again i have the Uplay only version of the game not the steam version
i made a bckup of that as i read online that sometimes the animal can die if he falls off a cliff
and you can not tame him
if you need a pre hunt save file i have one for that hunt
http://www.filedropper.com/prebloodfang
cut and paste my saves into your proper location ..one save is before i hunted him ..one is after i tamed him
named pre and post so you dont get them confused

my game is the uplay only version .. but the saves should work
make sure you shut off the Uplay cloud save sync setting in the Uplay client settings so you can use other saves .. you should shut that off anyway as it can cause problems.
if you do not wish to use my saves .. contact Ubisoft suppport ..but i doubt you will have much luck with trying to get your saves back .. when i had the problem with Far Cry 3
my only option was delete the corrupted save files
then shut off the cloud save option in Uplay settings ... and start a new game
with FarCry 3 also the save files get encrypted so they can only be used on your Uplay account ..so only your own backups will work
with Far Cry 4 that was not the case , as i have used other peoples save files here fine for that game
i do not know if they have the same level of encryption with FarCry Primal as they used only in Far Cry 3
but i did use my backed up save files on my other PC and they did work fine
I clicked the link to download your saved games but it just redirect me to the main filedropper web page and doesnt go to your download link.
I have done about 20 hours gameplay. pre bloodfang and alot of side quests.

The first folder (2029) contains all player saves, other folders have only a pair of auto/quick saves I backup-ed along the game (I used backup method 2 described in my guide).
