You could totally have a new map that was hidden by a large chuck of retreating glacial ice. The massive ice chunk falls over crushing 400m of forest, and as you look at the devastation you see a tiny slit between the ice and the rock face. Boom, new map and ground dinosaurs anyway.
Besides if dinosaurs are
