Cannot tame grizzly bear.

So im playing a game on ultra-hardcore mode, and when i throw bait at the grizzly bear, it starts eating it, it gives me the option to hold E to tame, i hold it and it does nothing, then the bear gets done eating and attacks me, i have already tried feeding it bait 3 times already. I have the skill for taming grizzly bears and sabertooth tigers.

I read somewhere you need to reduce the heal from the animal that you want to tame. Maybe thats the problem?

It only tells me to do that with cave bears and badgers.

You have to reduce all sabretooths, cave bears, and brown bears to half health before you can tame them in expert survival mode. You will know when you have damaged them enough, after you throw the bait when they start eating you will see the hand instead of the exclamation point. Two traps will do the trick, three will kill.
