Geforce filter settings recommendations?
The colors and lighting seem way off in this game and I need to make it better before going forward. Anyone using geforce filter for good results that's willing to post their filter settings? Or a reshade with any particulat build of the program ? I found some old reshades on nexus i wanted to try but they wouldn't work; i tried multiple reshade versions so idk. I've been messing with it but I've given up for the night....err, morning šŸ˜‚.

I had to download the 4.8 or 9? The 5. Whatever doesn’t work with the ones on nexus. But I’ll tell you this, they aren’t worth it. One is super freaking green, looks like you’re trippin on acid. And the other is just to go dark. I haven’t messed with the nivida shaders yet I do need to. I might try the ones made for warzone to see what it looks like, idk.

But I have made my own reshape, I just don’t know how to give it to someone lol. Maybe discord?

Thanks for the reply! I ended up using the geforce filters and am pretty satisfied (way better than the overly orange and washed out colors in vanilla). I don't understand how all these setting work so maybe these aren't streamlined, but if anyone else is having the same struggle, here's my settings (after much trial and error) and a place to start if nothing else. Feel free to add your own settings or how you tweaked these. Thanks!

In game menu:
Brightness is ONE click Below half. Contrast is at half exactly. Gamma is at ONE click ABOVE half.

GeForce Filters:
Color: Tint color 47%, Tint Intensity 30%, Temperature 6.5, Vibrance 8.5.
Brightness/Contrast: Exposure 5%, Contrast -22%, Highlights 30%, Shadows 41%, Gamma -4%.
Sharpen: Intensity 60%, Ignore film grain 100%.
Sharpen+: Intensity 15%, Texture Details 8%, and I didn't touch the invert depth axis options.

Well thank you for that brother, I’m going to save yours and warzones ( I’ll find a YouTuber who will show it on screen)

Absolutely loved it thank you!

I’m having 2 issues still (before I did the filters don’t worry lol)

1) my reticle for any weapon is sitting off centered vertically, so when I aim at someone/animal it doesn’t turn red; I have to literally aim above their heads to get it to turn red, (mind you at CLOSE range.

2) audio isn’t coming through no matter what I chose as an option, my headset, monitor speakers, surround sound speaker, nothing

Dang, that sounds terrible. What kind of hardware are you running? I take it this is an established rig and you have played other games without similar issues regarding sound and reticle? Hmmm, the reticle doesn't turn red? Does it still hit what your aiming for or is the aim off as well? Maybe the game is not supporting your monitor; are you running it on a wide monitor or something old or not mainstream?
It's an odd bug, and I've not read anyone else complain about it. This at least tells us that it's most likely something on your end. If I have any weird bugs in a game that no one else is experiencing, I start with removing any mods, then verifying game files, then deleting the game (after backing up my saves) and completely re-downloading it. Of course, make sure all drivers are up to date, windows is up to date, including windows audio drivers. One of the first is almost always the solution. I have never had to solve a bug like this, but if it is an issue with your display you might check the manufacturer's website in case it needs a software/driver update or something as well. Good luck! Let me know if any of these work or if they don't, and if you find a solution.

Solved One issue, Audio.
As for the Reticle, nothing. Bro im running a pretty high end PC, ive used this monitor before for Far Cry Primal, thats no issue. Ive Downloaded it through Epic Games to see if that version would give me the same issue, well Ubisoft Connect isnt letting me Connect to epic games.. so i FREAKING had to get a refund. then i went to download it from Ubisoftstore, and when I started it, it’s the SAME THING.

Also, my drivers and windows is all up to date.
And I have no mods for Far cry primal because there is none worth having lol (lacks the love) I’m running my montior at 1080p with recommended settings. I honestly don’t know why it’s this game, I started GTA 5 and the reticle works fine, even on Call Of Duty. This is strictly Far Cry Primal, even far cry 5 works just fine…smh

Hmmm. Glad one is solved at least, what was causing the audio bug?
As for the monitor, when was the last time you played primal on it and has anything on your end changed since then? Maybe an update to primal broke your monitor's support? Still might be worth checking for a software update just in case.
Maybe a windows or graphics driver update got corrupted and messed up the display drivers. Options would be to reset graphics drivers, or uninstall them and redownload them. As for windows, maybe revert your system to a prior update to see if that changes anything? The suckiest option is a fresh windows install but I would probably try it if nothing else worked. Still, weird that it wouldn't be happening in other programs.... You don't happen to have a back-up, work, or friend's monitor you can borrow, do you? Checking another monitor could provide some useful info. Sorry you're dealing with this; it would drive me crazy!
Please do tell me what fixes the issues! Partly because I will always wonder, but also so it's documented for the next poor soul who encounters it.

THIS. The lack of mods for farcry is so disappointing. Either the modding community needs to show them some love, or Farcry needs to get more mod friendly because a few tweaks here and there would be so great. My top mod for primal would be a mod to customize the length of the day/night cycle. Goes by wayyy too fast.

Btw, you've probably tried this, but does changing your FOV in game settings make a difference? Got mine at 110.

Do you have a discord? maybe i could screen share with you and show you my display settings, im not very Tech-Handy when it comes to messing with drivers and what have you. idk. But i dont play on a REAL monitor, i use a 4k 40 inch TV, and its one ive always used. My Discord is https://discord.gg/CsPCvvx

I use 120, and Yes i have adjusted it from 60-120 playing with anything and everything i could.

I tried to find the time cycle in Cheat Engine, but im not sure how to lol! since there is no "clock" to go off of.. But i did try to mess adjust the FOV from 120 to 150 didnt work, it crashed my game.. oh well, (and before you say anything this was AFTER my reticle was messed up) lmao. But you can do unlimited heath and resources tho on Cheat Engine, but i wouldnt go through all that, when WeMOD does it all for you and its free! and YES time cycle would be nice to slow down, Nights are WAY shorter than Days. I really hope you have time to hit me up on Discord.

I'm so old I don't know what discord is haha! Don't worry about not being too tech handy, that's where everybody starts. I only joined the PC master race with a prebuilt like 4 years ago, so I'm learning too. Lots of info is readily available, thankfully. If you want to do or change something on your PC there're instructions out there. It is hard when your running into bugs because you may not know what you need to troubleshoot or change. Been building up my knowledge and confidence watching some great youtube channels (linus tech tips, jayztwocents, nexus, pauls hardware, etc...), which helped me to start upgrading. Learned the "joy" of prebuilt parts really limiting my upgrade options firsthand. Now I plan to build my next computer...if parts ever return to non-insane prices.
I still think it's something to do with your display; whether it be drivers, software, or hardware. Also, maybe running 1080 on a 4k display is messing it up?
Btw, audio bug fix?

So audio drivers needed reinstalled? Must have been corrupted somewhere along the way. I have no idea how that happens.
I take it no solution yet? Why this game and only with the PC? That is a good question... Something is miscommunicating between only this game and your display.. Did you do the same with the display drivers? Maybe delete them and do a fresh install as well? Good luck. Lemme know when you figure it out.

I did a complete clean uninstall with DDU in safe mode and reinstalled in safe mode. Nothing worked. In two weeks I’m taking my computer to my buddies house, he’s going to help me back up my important files and help me restore my computer to factory..

The only thing else I can think of is when I downloaded Vorpx, it’s a mod that allows you to play far cry in VR. By the way it’s a amazing!!!!

But at the same time, I watched someone on YouTube play it as well, and he had no problem like me. Votpx didn’t mess his reticle up. So I don’t know for sure that was the issue, I’m just spit balling ideas… idk
The*Broken*Clock May 14, 2022 @ 6:16am
Dude, that sounds sweet. Primal would be an excellent VR title. I bet that is the culprit, though. It makes sense that it would effect your display. I take it you uninstalled it? Maybe some residual files somewhere messing something up... I hope you guys get it fixed. I'm 42 hours into my first play-through and I'm really enjoying it-- already kinda hoping they make another haha! It's just such a cool setting with fun weapons and enemies.
