To unlock new Camps etc for fast travel you need to kill all the humans there, then your tribe spawns.
If you just explore, then it is up to you. You almost never need to fight. Just run or go Stealthmode~
Ha, Stealth... Stealth was never an Option. "Rides Sabertooth while shooting fire arrows~"
If you stay away from settlements and other places humans usualy go, you mostly fight dogs, Wolfes, bears and many big cats... And Birds, so big they steal goats XD(No joke, you can watch them hunt)
The combat is at least fairly unique compared the other titles in the series, due to the lack of firearms. It's mostly melee and bow focused, but if you prefer to avoid human confrontations almost entirely it's also the easiest game in the series to cheese through with stealth. The eagle can safely mark enemies from the air, then, along with your other tamed animals, can be directed to assassinate specific targets or drop bombs that either kills or causes enemies to become frenzied and battle each other. All while you remain completely hidden.
At the end of the day though ti doesn't stray too far from the typical Far Cry formula. It just finds ways to adapt it to the setting whenever it can.
