When watching her play it on easy I noticed..
- increase in passive animals (deer etc)
- aggressive animals/npc's did less damage.
- The area radius in which she would be noticed/heard by animals was smaller (meaning she could get closer).
I'm sure there are other subtle mechanic changes, allowing players to more easily appreciate the open world with less fear of danger etc.
Interestingly, playing the game on Expert+Survival+Permadeath will give you a different sort of appreciation of the open world vibe
Anyways thanks, I've been playing a lot more and feel Hard/Normal seems to be more my pace...
Once you're comfy on hard, give Expert+Survival+Permadeath a shot. Changes the whole experience lol. Everything can 2 hit you, you're more aware of sounds(hearing them & making them) in case of nearby predators, stealth matters, positioning in fights matter, resources matter etc. Makes you see the game in a new (more realistic) way.
