Any easy fix for no sound in cutscenes?

it's been a while for me since there's a huge bug playing a game on PC, but i get no audio at all in cut scenes. Anyone know how to fix?

I have found it is sometimes my speakers, so I set them from 5.1 down to stereo. Restart the game and all sounds suddenly work fine. When they are set to 5.1 sometimes I can't hear the cutscenes other times when I load the game I can't hear any of the talking and I have even had issues with the basic game sounds not working. The game seemed to randomly pick something audio to not work.
