Can't fix the stuttering. Please Help
I'm playing Far Cry Primal and every 4-10 seconds the game will pause for a quarter of a second. Super annoying when I'm trying to aim and what-not. Anyone know how to fix?

A few things to note:

I am current playing Far Cry 5 on this same PC with HIGH graphics settings and zero lag or hitching. Same thing with the 2 dozen other modern games I've played recently.

I've tried LOW graphics settings with HD textures OFF. On "Very High" graphics settings I still run above 60 FPS most of the time. This is really not a "your computer can't handle the game bro" kind of moment.

I get the same hitching in menus, during the opening cinematic, during gameplay while staring at a wall and not moving, all while otherwise maintaining 70+ FPS. My FPS counter doesn't drop during these hitches.

I have an i7 3930k CPU, 16 GB RAM, and a Geforce 1070 card.

I have tried a number of fixes online including changing DisableLoadingMip0 to 1, GPU MaxBufferedFrames to 1, made sure I have no Parked Cores, turned a bunch of my Nvida Control Panel Settings to what I was told to online, added -Disablepagefilecheck to my .exe shortcut. These things have made literally no difference to the hitching I'm seeing.

Anyone have any advice please? As you can see I've been trying stuff. This is my last chance before I have to return the game which would make me very sad not to play it.

Well, I can't remember but I got the same issue after many hours of game and there is a fix. You should search on various topics and be able to find a solution. If I remember something I'll let you know. But there is something, don't worry

Edit : I found a topic where I found help to solve the issue, the title is "Fixed: Freezing". Search for it. The thing that solved my problem was the power management in the nvidia parameters. Well, just read, I jope you'll get a fix.

background process using your cpu. Hit ctrl+shift+esc and check if some background process is using your cpu. Make sure your cpu is at idle or something low like 1-2% usage before running the game.

Did you try the fixes from tje discussion "Fixed: Freezing" ? We've been several to get that issue after 30-35 hours of game and we used the same solution linked to other fixes for others.

Same here, tried everything but don't recall having the issue before the recent 'patch'

the so called patch is the problem as i remember the game was fine untill it was updated
My way around was changing affinty of the cpu for FC Primal and deactivate core 1, 3, 5 etc
Yes, setting affinity of the cpu cores worked for me as well. In this game and FC4.
