Have you tried other drivers, OP? I've heard there's been some framerate issues on the latest* ones due to some odd VRAM memory downclock issue.

As a note, this game seems to run better for me with Vsync on than it does off. Who would've thought.
* = Actually, the latest ones aren't 375.86 but 375.95 nowadays. Not sure whether or not the issue has been fixed.
Note that the Nvidia Control Panel can be run by right clicking on the desktop.
3D Settings Management> Program Settings>
1. Program settings to customize> Far Cry Primal (fcprimal.exe)
2. Select the default graphics processor for this program> "High-Performance Nvidia Processor"
And "apply".
Check the "Benchmark" in "Options" after running the game.
If the FPS is still low, try lowering the "Video" setting under "Options".

i don't see the setting for default graphics processor in nvidia cpanel as mentioned above.
using latest driver.
getting like 80 fps solid no problem now on ultra and shadows bumped down
