That's odd, have a 1080 and get consistent 60+ FPS on Ultra settings.

I have a 290 and get 70 ish fps to low 60s with ultra settings

I'm getting a pretty constant 60 FPS on Ultra too (except I dropped Shadows to High) and I'm playing on a GTX 970 on WHQL 375.70 -drivers.

Have you tried other drivers, OP? I've heard there's been some framerate issues on the latest* ones due to some odd VRAM memory downclock issue.

Mentions of the above, i.e. here:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/976786/nvidia-drivers-375-86-low-memory-clock/

As a note, this game seems to run better for me with Vsync on than it does off. Who would've thought.

* = Actually, the latest ones aren't 375.86 but 375.95 nowadays. Not sure whether or not the issue has been fixed.

Have you set up high performance in the Nvidia Control panel?
Note that the Nvidia Control Panel can be run by right clicking on the desktop.

3D Settings Management> Program Settings>
1. Program settings to customize> Far Cry Primal (fcprimal.exe)
2. Select the default graphics processor for this program> "High-Performance Nvidia Processor"
And "apply".

Check the "Benchmark" in "Options" after running the game.

If the FPS is still low, try lowering the "Video" setting under "Options".

Good luck.

getting a similar issue. i can barely hit 60fps with everything on low.. and my setup is pretty good. and about 30fps at any setting i would play at. can play BF1 at like 90fps no problem and countless other games blah blah.

win 7 64 bit
i7 4790k
16gb ram
980ti 6gb
nvme ssd

144hz monitor

i don't see the setting for default graphics processor in nvidia cpanel as mentioned above.
using latest driver.

i did a clean driver reinstall of the current nvidia release and it's running WAY better.
getting like 80 fps solid no problem now on ultra and shadows bumped down

I have GTX780 and ran the benchmark and it gives me min 51 and max 77. Maybe you have vsync on or need to update vid drivers. I have a GTX1070 on the way and will see what that gives me but the frame rate is very palyable for me on GTX780.

i played this game for about 6 hours and it was running smooth as butter around 70 - 90fps and then it just keeps stuttering and dropping for no reason lol i'll probably delete it and sware never to buy another ubisoft game if i can't find a way to fix it because i was actually enjoying it before i got shat on yet again from the brown ring of ubisoft
