Seriously with the rare tall elk skin?

I've now spent more time hunting tall elks than I've spent doing anything else in this game. I don't even mind having to go out and grind, I really don't. However I've yet to see a rare deer, which I didn't care about so much and I more or less gave up on as it requires two skins and I spent at least a couple hours hunting deer at one point, plus they're all over the place and I use hunter vision constantly... I've found numerous rare striped wolves, rare black lions, rare dholes, rare yaks. rare bitefish, rare black jaguar, rare two horned rhinos... Numerous and the worst part is I never actually hunted for them. I've found at least five to ten of each of those without even trying, yet I've now spent at least three solid hours killing Elk, and yes I'm out there at night. I go back to a campfire at dawn and reset to night. I've gone through at least fifteen night cycles at this point and probably killed thirty or fourty tall elk. If you kill them they respawn faster, I'm assuming that the rare ones have a % chance to spawn in.

So yeah the lack of rare deer was frustrating, as they're everywhere, but it wasn't that big of a deal overall because the reward for it didn't appeal to me. However without the rare elk skin I'm locked away from what appears to be storyline and quests as well as four skills. Dafuq Ubisoft. If you have ♥♥♥♥ on a low percent chance like that have another system that is like oh, ok, this guys killed like 40 elk and just has incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck, just spawn the guy a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rare one already.

dude i played thru the game twice .. never had a problem finding the rare animals

did you use your hunter vision to spot the rare one and the trail it leads ?

worked both times i played thru the game ?

The trail is for the quest, I have that skin. I went to the same spot but it didn't work like it did during the quest. I assume the quest actually spawns one. I've had zero issues with any of the other rare spawns, just the tall elk and deer. I use my hunter vision all the time as well.

dunno , it showed up both times i had to do that quest

my next play thru im gonna back up all the save files for every mission . you can try looking for a backed up save for that mission. i think i had one that AKKUNAMATTAA shared with me when i tried his save files .. if i can find that file .. i'll zip it up and post ya a link to get it. i thought he made a guide by now and posted a link to get his saves .. .but maybe not

just looked i think i lost his back up saves when i formatted to install WIN 10 anniversary edition

Ok dude seriously, you need to go back and read my first post or just stop responding. I've covered literally everything you've brought up, and somehow you still think I'm stuck on the quest. I'm not on the quest. I'm well past the quest. I completed the quest. Can I say it any other way...

I specifically said why I needed the elk skin, you need two skins for the Izila guy you bring back to your base, to unlock his hut. So I can learn the skills he offers. I have one skin from the quest you think I'm talking about, but I need another. To get the second skin you have to go out and find one naturally, can't repeat the old quest.

Even your last response, you asked me if I used hunter vision and I made a point to say that I use hunter vision all the time in my original post. I humored you though because you're at least trying to help but jesus, if you want to help someone you need to listen to what they're saying too lol. Otherwise you're just annoying.

We've played FC:Primal for about 150 hours. Rare Elk are some of the hardest to find. Your best chance is a random encounter. I often seen them running though the large Udam cave networks, near the top of the map. The caves are located at the campfire near the avalanches and ̶g̶a̶y̶s̶e̶r̶ geysers.

I spent hours farming another rare dhole
ended up killing my own one for the Dah hut because i gave up on farming

then randomly i found another one while doing search and rescue mission - - '

There is a location where they spawn all the time, actually, I saw there more rare elks than regular ones:

Finally found one after another hour or two of farming for them. Still haven't found any rare deer yet though, lol.

White deers spawn frequently all around the village.

I've found and hunted every animal so far, including both versions of the elk as well as both of the deer, but personally I haven't seen one single striped wolf yet.

If it wasn't for my apparent luck of the daily stash containing a striped wolf skin I would still be hustling to upgrade Karoosh's hut.
