Farcry Primal won't start!
I purchased the game last night. Played it for a few minutes after it installed. Then had to take care of some stuff. Came back later, and it won't start a second time. It gives me the little Farcry Primal logo applet, starts up Uplay, and then the logo goes away, and nothing. I have rebooted my system. Powered down fully and started back up, nothing. It just will not start up a second time.

Nothing in my settings have changed, no other installs, no hardware changes, it just refuses to start now. Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions?

From what I can see, there's a problem with Uplays patch implementation. When the patch is applied over an already existing install, it seems to mess it up. I should mention I purchased it in Steam, so I don't know if this will apply to any Uplay only install. I had to uninstall the game, and then reinstall it so that the game applied the patch durring the install. Now it seems to be working fine. I'm able to play, quit, start the game up again, etc.

So, if it's not starting up for you, try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

I should also mention that I was not far at all into the game, so I didn't bother backing up my save file. But when I reinstalled, the save was still there, though I did not bother using it, I just started a new game and overwrote the save. I do not know if backing up the save file and replacing it, or even if using the save file if it remains for you, will work or not. So, you might want to back up your save, and try replacing it after you reinstall.
Same here was. This problem appears if in system two and more monitors are set. I decided
this problem so - switched-off all monitors in NVIDIA control panel (but i think that better to disconnect wires from monitors) except one and reinstalled completely drivers on videocard.

Kredddy is correct as well. The first time I did this, i only had my one monitor hooked up, and the game bugged out on me from the patch. Once I reinstalled the game, and patched durring the install, it worked fine. After reading Kredddy's post, I tried pluggng my second monitor in, and the game acted the same way, would not start. I disconnected the cable for my second monitor, and the game started flawlessly.

This is somewhat troubling to me as my second monitor is a 60 inch flat screen Vizio wall mounted in my family room where my HTC Vive VR is set up for room scale play. I really don't like to have to unplug the TV from my computer just to play Primal, and then have to reconnect everything when I want to use the VR.

Has anyone found a way to make the game run if you have a dual monitor set up?

I have the displays set to mirror eachother, so I can't see why having 2 monitors would affect the game and cause it not to load. I could almost understand if having them set for extended displays would cause an issue, but it's not like I'm trying to exit the side of 1 display to access the second. The one in the family room is there so that when playing VR, other people watching can see whats going on in the VR display. I can't believe that after all the games Ubisoft has released that work just fine on dual mirrored displays, this game should be such a problem child...

Oh wait.... did they hire Urki as one of the developers in charge of this portion of the code?

So, anyone have a solution for Urki's coding?

Hmmm Well, the issue I posted about was nearly 4 years ago, and I don't remember everything about the issue I was having. If I remember correctly, it all centered around having 2 monitor displays connected while trying to run the game. If you have 2 monitors connected to your system, try unplugging one and then run the game again. If this does not solve, I would suggest backing up your saved game, and then try reinstalling the game. If that does not work, you could try reinstalling Uplay.

Sorry I'm not being much help to you on this issue, as I said, it was 4 years ago, so I don't remember a lot about what steps I took to correct it.

On the bright side, I haven't played Primal in nearly 4 years, and you've sparked a desire to play it again... Time to see if Urki got any smarter. :)

Yes, it should start working again if you uninstall the game and then reinstall it.
