I can't believe this Wayne's World scene just became reality.

Lord Kres: So I have this new game called Journey of the Light where you play as a ball of light that wanders around the map and can turn lamps on and off. The game is advertised to be a hard puzzle game with 7 chapters and really hard to solve puzzles. The beauty part is you can't get to the other chapters, so the players keep trying to figure out how to beat chapter 1 and when they've figured out it there's no solution they've already past the 2 hour refund limit.

And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.

I, and I'm sure many, many others, have been saying this since the start of Steam Refunds. That games companies will exploit this 2 hour window to trick you into keeping the game. All they need to do is either dangle content like a carrot in front of you for that period or in fact give you so much to do in that first 2 hours and then the rest of the game could be a blank canvas of mediocrity.

This guy is a charlatan. I had completely forgotten about this until I watched the Jim Sterling video again that covered this and though I would come and have a look. Sure enough, not a thing has changed. He hasn't fixed the issue which pretty much proves to me he is a liar and what it was is all there ever was going to be. There was no patching mistake or other sorcery, it was a lie.

And now I read he has made two further attempts to fling poo at Steam Greenlight in the hopes some of it will stick.

The good news is that he's removed those two asset flips because I think he realized that it will never be Greenlit because no one likes a scammer.

hilarious thing is that to get on greenlight - yes just to get ON it, even before you succeed or fail regarding votes - you must pay valve an USD 100 fee...

I think there should be a per game fee. There's too many troll games on Greenlight and yes even after they pay $100, they still decide to submit troll games and treat Greenlight as if it's a joke like they didn't just spend $100 of their own money. I really don't understand those types of people.

No it's not. It's just $100 and you can submit unlimited games to Greenlight.

i stand corrected - my bad.

edit: i actually just didn't believe any company could be so stupid as to make the GL fee a one-time only thing, especially one as money-grubbing as Valve...
