Post-Chimera/Marauder Tips *spoilers*
Hey guys.

So I just managed to get past the Chimera and I'm into the second part of the game (Act 2 I guess?)

My log says the "Marauder" is coming. I can't find any mention of it on the forum. I have three T3 ships right now and I'm not sure if I should bother with the other three or go straight to T4.

Also, do my sensor probe things work on the resources held by the other races?

Thanks for any help.

Go with the next flotilla tier, if possible; let low-level officers command the decorated low-tier ships.
"XXX is coming" is part of the Chruul invasion of alien sectors (so you'll get as many) - defeat the occupying fleet and get a unique reward of gratittude (like any army of salvation gets).
AFAIK resource of other races don't matter/work for you.

Edit: spoiler marking

Also, the game style favors the agressiveness - the battle is the main source of XP and resources. Attack any week fleet with the appropriately week fleet you have (but keep in mind the Accademy lvl boost, i.e. it makes sense for officers lvl >= 10) and don't leave the starbase defenseless(because of random events).

So far I immediately went to the north sector and wiped out the new ships
I beat the Maruader with Tier 3 ships, but I had three ships at critical condition and got a providential exploit+critical hit to finish it off. I recommend getting Tier 4 ships before fighting him, but you don't need them immediately.

Can I just let the Marauder destroy the Yabblings since I am not allies with them anyways

You can. It is your choice: defend them, and keep them around for rewards, or let them die, and avoid having them harass your allies.

If you've cycled your officers well, you should have 6 officers capable of running tier 3 ships plus some chained to the materials replicators/dark matter production on the station. I usually keep one fleet over with the korzan and one in the Terran sector. If you don't want to ally with the voraash, occasionally take a fleet up to their sector to kill fleets/wipe them out. Otherwise just look out for moving chruul or other ships and make sure you've maxed out propulsion so you can always beat them to their destinations. You can avoid any fights with non-chruul ships just by getting there first (assuming you haven't made enemies with them).

Save every race. You'll get bonuses that greatly help with base power, debuff resistance, ship speed and...I can't remember the rest.

Also, do any quests that come up. Extra legendary officers are never a bad thing.
