What difficulty is everyone playing on?
I was just wondering what difficulty everyone likes best. I'm playing on Commander(3rd)

Whichever one is normal. When you select it it says its the way its meant to be played. Thinking about starting over on easy though as I am getting rekt constantly.

Yeah, I started on easy after reading about all the trouble people are having later on in the game in the harder modes. You still have to think in battles and can't just spam the strongest attack, so easy doesn't feel too easy to me. :)

As someone playing at Commander(normal) difficulty I don't see what the problems are, so far my resources haven't been abundant sure, but I've had enough to keep progressing

People have been complaining about losing tons of later space battles, because science ships accumulate too much threat compared to engineer ships, so the science ships get killed within the first two turns in later battles causing heavy frustration for some players.

Since it's my first time playing I'm fine with easy for now, it feels pretty balanced and devs are aware of the threat-level problem and trying to do something about it. So I'll jump into the harder modes when that's done and just use easy to learn the game. :)

I'm playing on standart, though I'll definitely will try admiral later. And the game will be patched up pretty well when in happens I think.

I'm playing on the second difficult level beause I suck at micromanaging in games like this.

Me too, but next I'm going for baby-peanut-weak easy. The Chimera presents a big tactical jump. I thought I was ready for it, but the minions thought otherwise.

I figure smart minmaxing should solve these issues, but I like whiskey, and whiskey and minmax don't mix.

Standard difficulty. Now that I've reached Tier-4, the game balance has become ludicrously unbalanced. There are around nine colonies demanding aid at the same time and I've dropped a few already, and every one of them needs my single best fleet's attention. Whenever I beat one, another springs up.

Yeah im in the boat, im turning the dificulty down from standard on next run. the constant colonies blocking/bombarding is too much to keep up.

The medium/normal one.
I did encounter some difficulties when I reached Chimera the first time, so I loaded a save game 50 days before the Chimera encounter and managed to get at least 2 T3 ships and managed to beat him. Now I'm on tier 5 and felt the game battle still easy-ish

For people having problem with having to run all over the place on end game, don't you guys have ships with healing capability? With healer ship I found that I don't need to get back to my base and able to engage 3-5 fights before returning.

Admiral. The game isn't too bad if you play efficiently. I can see how without making the right decisions you can be thrown into a hole.

I am at Chimera right now but I don't know why T4 ship tech is locked for me. I already have T3 ships. If it forcefully locks the tech progression behind story progression that annoys me a little.

T4 is a big step up and Chimera would be way way to easy, T3 hes not that bad, I think he has been buffed but in the beta I took the Chimera on with 1 tier 3 ship and 2 tier 2, now that was a challenge.

Played through on 3rd difficulty, pretty easy all up I found after playing the beta.

Planning on admiral after a few more patches/tweaks.
