Since it's my first time playing I'm fine with easy for now, it feels pretty balanced and devs are aware of the threat-level problem and trying to do something about it. So I'll jump into the harder modes when that's done and just use easy to learn the game. :)
Me too, but next I'm going for baby-peanut-weak easy. The Chimera presents a big tactical jump. I thought I was ready for it, but the minions thought otherwise.
I figure smart minmaxing should solve these issues, but I like whiskey, and whiskey and minmax don't mix.
I did encounter some difficulties when I reached Chimera the first time, so I loaded a save game 50 days before the Chimera encounter and managed to get at least 2 T3 ships and managed to beat him. Now I'm on tier 5 and felt the game battle still easy-ish
For people having problem with having to run all over the place on end game, don't you guys have ships with healing capability? With healer ship I found that I don't need to get back to my base and able to engage 3-5 fights before returning.
I am at Chimera right now but I don't know why T4 ship tech is locked for me. I already have T3 ships. If it forcefully locks the tech progression behind story progression that annoys me a little.
Played through on 3rd difficulty, pretty easy all up I found after playing the beta.
Planning on admiral after a few more patches/tweaks.
