and has less content compared to lightspeed edition
It has been many years but I have been pondering retrying the game and I wondered which version I should play. Maybe someone else will come one year after I revisited the same question as OP.
I understand they shortened many things and removed some grind, from what they mentioned. But let's be honest, if I see a game that says "it lasts 20 hours", I would have more chances to purchase it than a game that says "it lasts 8 hours".
Some content is even more interesting if you don't replace it right after with a new one.
Content is better enjoyed when we can explore it in depth and content scores how meaningful it is by how many lasting changes it makes before becoming obsolete, developing our relationship to it. "Completing a game" also means it no longer has value, somehow.
I understand though that Lightspeed is according to the developer the real best version, the one they want us to play, and there is some respect to give to this too.
Don't know if I helped ^^
