Solution to the "Invalid License Key" problem.

1. Go to your "Run" program
2. Type in "regedit"
3. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Muzzy Lane Software
4. Delete the "Muzzy Land Software" folder
5. Run the game and enjoy.

Did what you said but the Muzzy Lane Software just keeps replicating itself every time I delete it.

No, I can't play. I have reinstalled the game about three times and I have restarted my computer and steam and it still fails to open. The error message says "couldn't find valid license key. Please try reinstalling the product." than an initialization failure message comes up saying "Failed to initialize game engine. Game cannot start."

Hello Everyone,
Had the same problem.
First let me explain that I run on Win7 OS. For security reasons, I usually enter on a non-administrator profile when I use my computer. If you do as me, the solution I've used to be able to launch the game properly after installing it is simply to enter my admin profile for the initial first launch of the game. After that, you simply go back to your non-admin(usual) profile and it should work properly. Give it a go! Hope it works for you too. Found that solution on CKII forum a while ago, so thanks to those gamers who found it and if you ever encounter that same problem again on any game's forum simply spread the word.

On Windows, it'll be in your Start menu (with a right click on your Windows button); its a developer function that can be used to access all the nooks and crannies of the Windows system. You can also search your Program Files for it, and you'll find it eventually.

Shouldn't be an error, unless the system thinks the folder isn't there. Try running the game, restart your comp, and repeat. Maybe a reinstallation might also help.

the game is even after the fix unable to start...neither in german nor english language.
I tried to delete the folder in the registry, re-installed several times, but without any luck.

Only the license key popup appeared only in the first installation, so maybe something is cached by steam.
