PSX 2 joystick trouble

Hi, my PSX 2 joystick dont work properly
directional (up, down, left and right) is ok but buttons (shot, jump, etc) dont worked
any help ?

Is this Windows or OS X?

What happens when you try to re-map the buttons using the Controls menu?

Windows 7
Controls Menu > Rebind Gamepad Controls > Press Button for Shot > no effect for any button (square, circle, x, triangle, start, select, directionals, etc)

Can you share your log file?

This file is found in the "dws_Data" folder of the game's install location as output_log.txt on Windows. Since Steam doesn't have support for uploading files to posts, you can use a service like http://pastebin.com/ and copy and paste the log contents, and link here.

And just to verify, how are you connecting the PSX 2 controller to the computer? I assume you're using one of those USB adapters?

Nothing is jumping out at me...a PSX 2 controller should work, as long as the USB adapter is supported by Windows.

One last thing to check, hold down the ALT key when launching the game through Steam. This will be bring up a launcher window. Go to the Input tab and tell me whether the mappings look similar to this

If the bindings look okay, what you can try to do in the meantime is use something like http://joytokey.net/en/ to map the keyboard controls to the PSX 2 controller. Here are a list of the default keyboard controls, to make it easier to map.

Well, I use Xpadder to map the keyboard controls to my PSX 2 controller and its work fine but I need enable a joystick for achievements

I not need a joy2key, I need a key2joy because want to get achievs and dont have 3 joysticks to do it xD

Ah you know what's probably going on, Unity (the game's engine) has a hard time consistently working with DirectInput controllers, so the game only works with XInput supported controllers (official 360 and some other Logitech controllers, for example) I'm not entirely sure if the PSX 2 controller would be picked up by Windows as a XInput controller, and thus wouldn't work in the game.

But it's good that you're able to at least use Xpadder. There are other third-party tools such as x360ce to trick Windows into thinking any DirectInput controller is a XInput controller, but if Xpadder is working I'd just stick with that.

I downloaded x360ce and it showed directionals and buttons presseds... nice, so I saved and close x360ce but inside Demons with Shotguns nothing again
I think PSX2 controllers arent compatibles 100% with steam games
Maybe purchase a 360 controller be an alternative but yet necessary 2 controllers more for versus achievements
Well, I really want to get these achievs but I dont know what to do because I have a keyboard and a PSX2 controller incompatible only xD

I got some joysticks and I finally got 100% achievements

for knowledge:
PS2 - dont work
PS3 - dont work
PS4 - ok
xbox 360 - ok
