I would love for Kathy Rain to be a series: now that she and Eileen have been exposed to this supernatural aspect of existence, perhaps they go around working supernatural mysteries: it would avoid the pitfalls of explaining too much (letting the mysteries of the first game be) while simply expanding the universe and metaphysics of the Kathy Rain universe. KR1 could be like the origin story of a supernatural detective.
Yeah it might have less emotional impact than all the stuff about her parents and past, but there are plenty of new ways to get players emotionally invested.
PLEASE make more Kathy Rain! I’m enjoying Whispers of a Machine right now but I just liked Kathy Rain so much, I feel like I’m mostly playing Whispers to fill that void and I’m sorry to say that because it’s also a fantastic game, it’s just that I liked the theme and setting more for KR.
