Cant adjust screen size.
Even at full screen it stays at 640x480 for some reason? Any way around this?

Hi Guardian,

I'm really sorry about the trouble - even after all these years, that's...actually a new issue! Just out of interest, have you tried pressing Alt + Enter? Otherwise, the only other thing I can think of (of the top of my head) would be a graphics card setting about scaling full screen applications.

Looks like for now whenever I play I have to temporarily set the scaling to Aspect so the game comes up normally. Will I have to do this for the second game coming too?

I sincerely apologise for that Guardian, but I'm glad you found a solution. No, 8-Bit Adventures 2 is made in a different engine with different functionality, so I believe it should be fine =) Thank you very much for your patience, and I'm sorry for the trouble!

Did you find a work around for this? How do you force it to full screen but still maintain aspect ratio? It keep stretching on my screen, and unfortunately on a 4K screen, the initial launch window is way too small and I cannot play it without making it bigger. So I am forced between the options of tiny window or stretched full screen with Alt+Enter.

I'm sorry for the trouble YQMaoski! If I understand the issue correctly, I think you need to do what Guardian did. Essentially, I believe he went into his graphics card settings and changed the full screen scaling option from "Stretch" to "Aspect", so that the full screen image will correctly retain its aspect ratio rather than being stretched. Terminology varies between graphics cards and software (as does the method of accessing graphics card settings), but hopefully that might point you in the right direction =)

My settings options in NVIDIA Control Panel have these options:
1. Aspect Ratio
2. Full-Screen
3. No Scaling
4. Integer Scaling

Aspect ratio is already selected, but the game still stretches on Alt+Enter for fullscreen.

I am not sure what else to do.

Is there any kind of config file in the game's files to allow me to manually override the launch window size or scaling that way?

Hmmm, that's strange then...I wonder if it has to do with having a 4k monitor? I have those same NVIDIA settings, but my monitor's just 1080p. Unfortunately, in my experience, this issue is out of the game's hands. I locked manual window resizing because what happens is that the window gets stretched, but the actual game content remains the same size sadly.

AH, but I think I've figured it out! Under Display, choose 'Adjust desktop size and position'. There should be options under Scaling and one of them should say "Perform Scaling on:" You can choose either your Display or your GPU. If you choose Display, the game stretches; if you choose GPU, it doesn't! So hopefully that's the cause =D

Thank you, that did fix it! :-)
