For those using Dualshock 4/PS4 controllers

Thought I'd point out this game natively supports the Dualshock 4 controller, although it's a bit hidden. You don't need any sofware to play this with a DS4 and you'll even get the classic playstation icons in almost all the menus.

DISCLAIMER: Rumble/force feedback is not supported on the DS4 natively in 2K16. You must choose between rumble and correct button icons unfortunately. I don't know why this is since Batman Arkham Knight supports rumble on the DS4 natively. However it has its own quirk that the controller must be plugged in via USB which I don't get either. I personally choose rumble for gameplay and button icons for franchise mode where I'm mostly navigating menus.

If you go to controller config in the options menu you'll see LB and RB allow you to select different controllers yet the buttons don't change from windows 360 controller. this is because you are running software that disguises your DS4 as a 360 controller.
Turn off this software (for me its input mapper (which is excellent)), go to control pannel, go to printers and hardware, right click any xbox 360 controllers you see, which should leave you with just "wireless controller" which is your DS4.

Now quit out of 2k16, restart the game and you should notice all the xbox menu icons have been replaced by the playstation x,o, square, triangle etc

Thought I'd share since I know everyone is using gamepads and alot of you are probably playing with a DS4 like me. I hate seeing xbox icons when I'm using my playstation gamepads so I hope this becomes the industry standard from here on out on PC

The reason I said kinda* before is because I had trouble getting 2k16 to recognize my DS4 without first launcing input mapper then quiting it and going through the process. maybe you'll able to skip that process and just plug and play, just make sure you don't have any xbox controllers connected or anything emulating one

Thank you, just bought NBA 2k16 and I was thinking it would only support XBox controls like in NBA 2k13.

if you start the game with just a keyboard the game is literally like "are you sure you wanna do this?" lol can't imagine many people on m&k

seems for some reason most people dont seem bothered by mismatched buttons. to me it really ♥♥♥♥♥ up my immersion in a game

I personally play everything with m&k unless it's more intuitive using a controller.

Solid gameplay is 99% more important towards immersion than weird controls imho.

you must not be using any xbox360 emulation

No emulation, just plugged it in and my pc uses it. It also shows ps4 icons in GTA.

exactly people who use ds4's regularly for PC games usually have to use a program called input mapper to trick games into thinking its a xbox controller and this becomes routine even for new games. I posted this to let people using emulation to turn it off because the game recognies it natively. if you never turn off emulation youd have no way to know.

try disabling any xinput emulation you have going and see if it 2K detects the controller still. If it does you'll probably get dualshock icons

in case someone ends up in this thread... thanks for the tip but i think the nba 2k16 doesnt detect the ps3 controller without the emulator ... its a pitty but thanks for the tips
