Help how to play with a ps2 controller

I recently got nba2k16, and would like to play with a ps2 controller. I bought an adapter that allows the ps2 controller to connect to the pc. It works-partially. 2k recognizes all of it except the joysticks, so I cannot use it to move. All the buttons work, like x to pass and square to shoot, but 2k will not recognize the joysticks, so I can only move with the keyboard, while the adapter and controller are plugged in. My pc doesnt have a cd slot, and the adapter came with a little disc with the word Driver on it. Do I need to somehow load that disc into my pc? Is there an external program I need, or is it soemthing else? Thanks for the help

Yes there is a program I use it for ps3 but it supports ps2 also its called motionjoy. When you get it click on ps2 and click enable then go to driver manager click the port and click load driver it will install

Is it device manager or driver manager Its a tab in mptionjoy that you click

Thanks. But at the bottom of the screen of motionjoy, it said ERROR:Call Class Installer Failed error code :0x-1fffdd8

Try to click install driver instead then if it doesn't work try enabling it on xbox360 and install drivers

Go back and enable again and play tell me if it wirks

it owrked once and then I launched the game again and it didnt work

It recignizes the control pad but not the joysticks

Try to enable it every time before launch or try launching in big picture mode

PS3 controllers also works at nba 2k16

I don't know if it works with a ps2 controller, but check out "controller companion" (you can play/add keybinds for every game yourself) here on steam or google.

I have checked out motionjoy and x360ce, and neither work. I think it is because they are not detecting my joysticks. I tried to add keybinds with x360ce, and it did not register the joysticks as axis. I think the problem has somehting to do with either the adapter (a wired HCE) or the fact that I have not installed the little disc that says Driver on it.
