Why is the game still $60?

I understand that it is not going to be $15, like if it was if it was a madden game during Black Friday weekend, but full price of a new game without a sale? What is the reason for this? I am assuming there is one because no one else seems to be talking about it.

They simply leave their old 2K's behind. They don't really update anything about this game or any previous 2k games released on Steam. Since this game is 2 years old, you'll be lucky to find it on sale. 2K17 will be the next installment to have a hefty discount, I'm positive it will go on sale during Christmas weekend, or the Summer sale. 2k16 is forgotten at this point and will remain untouched. You can find keys for the game though, for a lot cheaper. You can look up third party sites that sell them. Though I am unfamiliar with purchases from those retailers.

I understand that it is not being touched but why is NBA 2K18 going for less than NBA 2K16? Why is NBA 2K16 still at the same price as it was back in 2015?
