Templar Battleforce

Templar Battleforce

Android or PC(Steam)?
Hi,

I am really interested by this game and the kind of approach these devs have. I was simply wondering if there were any major differences between playing Templar Battleforce on Android or PC, and if one was preferable to the other.

I've always been a PC gamer, but recently I bought a tablet and really like the fact that I don't have to sit at my desk to play games or browse the Internet. Plus, I get to bring the game everywhere.

The fact that I don't play big AAA titles or online games on my PC anymore (therefore I'm not as much on the PC) makes me want to buy Templar Battleforce on Google Play. On the other hand, playing on PC makes it easier to immerse myself into games much more than the tablet, because honestly, I always seem to do other stuff WHILE playing on the tablet (it IS mobile after all :P ).

Do you think I'll come to regret it if I buy it on tablet? What would be the big pros and cons? Do you ever plan to offer Steam keys to any Google Play purchase (or vice-versa)?

Thanks in advance!
Ben

Both versions of the game are equivalent in features and content. The interface on the touch edition of the game is slightly simplified. The PC version was designed first and so it has the most complete and detailed version of the interface.

We are hard at work on a cross-platform cloud save system that will let you move Squads between platforms (like take your game from your Tablet to your PC and visa versa.)

There are no plans to attempt to provide Steam keys for users on Google Play. Each market sells a unique version of the game that costs us money to support -- from a financial standpoint we need to sell the game. I hope that makes sense -- none of the games have paid DLC or IAP and it is a one time purchase. We will occasionally hold sales on Steam and Google Play.

If you have any other questions just let me know.

Thank you for the quick response, you made me decide : I'll go for PC first since it was designed for it, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to get my hands on it for Tablet as well. And if we'll be able to share saved squads between each platform, it'll be awesome!

I totally understand the financial standpoint, and the game is not that expensive, plus it lets us support you twice if we buy each version!

I'll make sure to leave a review and promote you guys to my friends. Here's to some future epic gaming hours!

Who buy a game two times full-price for two distinct devices? (Except maybe hardcore fans and generous buyers.) If you just want to support the team, you could just buy the game several times. ;)
I totally understand the financial standpoint too. It makes sense. Steam and Google Play are two totally distinct market, and I guess it's not possible to sell "bundles"... sadly. Especially with cross-platform cloud save system, it would be nice to be able to switch from computer to mobile! But who would pay the game twice for that? Sure, the game is great and not that expensive, the team seems to be very nice, maybe it worth it... but still... ? :)

As said, take the opportunity of sale could be a nice way to get the game for another device.

Hopefully when we finish cross platform cloud save more people will be interested in buying the game on multiple platforms. Many successful games on Steam have managed to make this happen.

Sadly cross-platform bundles aren't in the best interest of people like Steam and Apple, so I doubt the markets will ever provide them.

I don't know if it's in the best interest of developers, but, for example, if you look at the Humble Store, for most of android's games you receive the PC/Steam version:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/search/platform/android
So, usually, if you buy a game there, you get it for several platforms if it's possible.

I don't know how your cross platform cloud save system will operate. If it's directly related to Google Play (and Apple Store), probably it wouldn't work, because all these games seems to be DRM-free? And obviously, Humble Store is working with Steam, but definitely not with Google and apple...

Anyway, maybe we won't see it soon... but across-platform save would be a very interesting feature for a bundle computer/mobile! :)

Fun stuff! We're going to focus on adding features that all platforms can take advantage of and stay away from bundles. You won't see any of our titles on Humble.

We are really excited to add new features to the game, including cloud save, that makes cross-platform play more fun. You'll be able to smoothly move a game from Google Play to Steam and back again as often as you want.

Actually, with cloud saves it's pretty cool. I swap Cricket Captain games around between phone, tablet and PC all the time. More than happy to pay 'twice', as long as the pricing itself is reasonable.

We'll do our best to make sure it is a compelling feature!

If your device is rooted, you can move them from /data/data/com.tresebrothers.games.templarbattleforce/files to your Linux box.

~/.config/battlefront/ for Linux

Please let me know if that helps!
